I've got a 1 page assignment due tomorrow that's a proposal for the final paper I have due for my effective writing class.
What I've got to do tonight is pick a contemporary subject that's in the news, and write a page with a thesis about whether I'm for or against this, and give three reasons as to why.
What my professor is looknig for are things like: The Death Penalty, Gay Marriage, Universal Healthcare, Abortion Laws, Old people and their drivers licenses, teaching evolution in schools, etc.
It's got to be something sepcific enough that I can give it adequate discussion in 5 pages for the final paper.
Here's where I'm calling on you guys. I hate shit like this. I can never pick a topic to use, and I've been trying to come up with something for two days.
The only thing that remotely interests me are topics relating to how video games are being billed as the reasons kids commit violent crimes. If you can come up with something for this, I'd be greatly appreciative. My concern with topics like this, however, is that I won't find much legit information on my side of the argument (which is of course, that the whole idea is crazy.)
So, GAF, your task is this:
Give me suggestions for what to write about, and reasons why.

And you've got about a half hour or so, and then I'm doing some generic topic that I'll hate.
