Game Recommendations?

I'm glad Grandpa porked a Chinese Muslim
I've still got just under $50 in an Amazon GC from my brother, and I think I want some new, but not full priced games. I'm looking mainly at the ones that have dropped to $30, as I'd be willing to dump in the extra $10 to get two. Some I've been looking at are Silent Hill 4 and Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines. (Both for PC) I've played all three of the prior Silent Hill games, and the previous Vampire game, and I enjoyed them all, so these seem like logical choices. Does anyone else know of any other good ones at that price to put above the first two?

Take SH4 right out of the running. Trust a serious fan of the series.

Bloodlines was enthralling. I have never described this game without using the word "enthralling."

Remember that I'm looking for PC games, as the only other systems I have are DC and older, but I don't really play those much at all.

I don't particularly care for sports games. I would like to find a nice combat flight simulator, but lately they all either seem to require ungodly amounts of money invested into the PC, or just suck.

Should we assume that you're rig is up to snuff? Cuz neither of the games you mentioned will run real smooth on my rig and it pretty much defines snuff. (Well, Bloodlines isn't bad, but the hub areas can really chug)

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

It's pretty low-mid-range these days.

Athlon XP2000+ (not OC'ed)
1024MB PC3200 ram
Radeon 9800SE softmodded

It runs BF1942 pretty well at max settings, but chugs a bit in the Forgotten Hope mod, among other things. It ran Silent Hill 3 perfectly though.

That was the one good port. Totally different team, totally different results. I still adamantly dissuade you from it based on the game alone, even if your rig seems snuffish.

1) Eternal Darkness
2) Technic Beat
3) Not Psi-Ops

Oh wait, no consoles? Soz. I'd recommend Sam and Max Freelance Police, but uh, it was cancelled.

Check out Silent Storm. It'll run terrible, but it's turn based so it doesn't matter. Just make sure you abort your play once the mechs show up and break the game.

Try the demo and tell me that it's not awesome.

Actually, now that I think about it, might CoD: United Offensive make a better choice than SH4? I've got the original CoD, and I liked that quite a bit. I just wish the price would drop a little more.

SH4 is pretty decent IMO. Check your gamerankings.com for more opinions. I have an Athlon 2100+ and a 9800 pro and have absolutely no problems with performance. You shouldn't either.
