Nintendo Next Generation Console to Include Online Play?
- Not only are they working like mad to get their next generation console ready to beat both of their major competitors to market. I am hearing that the system will have Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Metroid and Star Fox games as well as a few other high-profile games ready to ship at launch, not two or three years after like they did with the Nintendo 64 or GameCube.
- However we have learned that the next generation Nintendo machine might include a 15 GB hard drive and as you already know from previous reports, chips for the machine are being made by ATI and IBM, the same folks who are making the Xbox Next chip sets! Other rumblings we have begun to dig up include the fact the system might include dual 1.8 GHz Power PC processors and an 800 MHz graphics chip.
-We have also learned that the new Nintendo machine will have a revolutionary modem technology that will allow for voice chat, online gaming the whole shebang! Nintendo is planning a full online strategy that will be announced as part of its next generation console unveiling which we are hearing will take place sooner rather than later!
The F-Zero cartoon on the horizon! Hey it's the middle of summer and the gaming gossip pool well is getting close to bone dry. So I have to scour the entire planet to dig up what I can. The F-Zero cartoon starring Captain Falcon is a huge hit in Japan and it seems as though the cartoon, F-Zero: GP Legend will be coming to North America on Fox Box as early as this September.
In other game to movie related news, some big name movie studios are gauging Nintendo's interest on bringing an F-Zero inspired movie to the big screen. Details are sketchy at the moment, but it seems that things are moving forward!
The NHL licensing department is warning game companies to ship their hockey games as early as possible. A player's strike is on the horizon and EA Sports, ESPN Videogames and Sony Computer Entertainment of America have a lot of money invested in their games and have been told as recently as this week to get their games out the door as soon as possible, according to an inside source within the NHL Player's Association.
SCEA recently announced its name change from NHL Face-Off to Gretzky NHL 2005. A great marketing ploy especially if there is a strike. Because Gretzky on the box cover of a hockey game will help it make its way off of store shelves, with or without a strike, especially in Canada!
The obligatory "fixed".the system will have Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Metroid and Star Fox games as well as a few other high-profile games ready to ship at launch, not two or three years after like they did with every console they have ever made.
Message board fodder. Why do people post these things?

Donkey Kong: Wrath of Kong to include run-around-the-city modes similiar to GTA / Spiderman2
Sega Sammy is doing a Shenmue fighting. It will feature the following Shenmue characters: Ryo Hazuki, Xiu Ying, Joy, Yamanishi, Iwao Hazuki, Master Chan, Gui Zhang, Chai, Goro, Ren, Terry, Guixiang Lee, Jianmin Tao and Lan Di of course, as the final boss.
With some hidden ones, rumored to be Nozomi (strange but true), Fukuhara and ShenHua (reported to be really fast and agile).
Microsoft will halt production the XBOX unit by 2006. This is to make way for a new Microsoft handheld in design stages called, "PETS" which stands for "Personal Entertainment Telecommunications System". With XBOX live technology and Mircosoft interest in purchacing WiFi technology this will be the first handheld system to be a game based telephone / pager / email / fax machine / digital camera / walky talky / note book, which will all be the size of a Gameboy Advance SP.
The specs on it are still shady but it is supposed to have a 120GB HD, touch screen, internet / online capabilities, wireless networking, and many other features.
The point of it is to be able to allow people to take their gaming machines with them like they do now with their laptops and cell phones. It will be a system to out do them all and alot of other electronic products.
The goal is to produce it for as cheap as possible and sell it for under cost so that is becomes popular. It will make money on software.
