MUSIC POWER behind the punches

Get beaten by the rhythm to the action with nasty techno and jungle mixes. Deosil, TokyoRaver and Jesse Mann will give your controllers that extra rumble feature.

It has also been revealved that Tekken 5's bonus content will include arcade versions of Tekken 1-3, so are you up to the challenge?

This month, GNG goes straight to its roots, hitting you with raw and unbridled gaming action! Heavy upbeat grooves by some of New York-Tokyo's resident DJs provide the soundtrack to this night of intense gaming, graciously provided by this month's feature game publisher, Namco! Known for such worldwide hits as the Ridge Racer and Tekken Series, Namco is responsible for some of the most successful games of the new generation.

Rothko in the Lower East Side will be alive next Saturday with an epic tournament for Namco's newest smasher, Tekken 5! Come try your hand at this, one of the gaming world's most beautiful and stylish 3D fighters, and compete for a plethora of exciting Tekken related prizes! While you're here, don't forget to try out the rest of our gaming selection, also provided by Namco. The brand new Tekken spin-off title, Death By Degrees, stars Nina, one of Tekken's most beloved characters, and will be ready for play at GNG. Also look out for what is sure to be one of this year's biggest RPGs, Xenosaga Episode 2, the epic "space opera" for the PS2. Last but certainly not least, experience two of video-gaming's most unique experiences, the musical rhythm antics of Taiko Drum Master and the ridiculously simple and addictive Katamari Damacy!

To accompany this exciting and fast-paced night of gaming is a trio of DJ sets from New York-Tokyo's finest, providing beats as fast as you like! DJs Deosil and TokyoRaver will pound out a pair of ferocious techno and tech-house sets, before Jesse Mann kicks up the tempo for some fast and funky drum & bass! It's the perfect musical compliment to the fists and feet flying on a multitude of crystal clear flat screens! As we continue to step up the pressure for GNG in 2005, make sure not to miss this month's installment!

If any of you live in or around New York City, maybe this would be something you're interested in going to. My friend is TokyoRaver so that's how I found out about it, so props to him for helping getting this whole thing together. Newyork-Tokyo has done GNG before with moderate-to-good success, so it's always a neat idea to fuse this sort of club environment with games imho. And with Namco/Fuse/Sharp backin' this one, it's looking to be bigger than ever.

Anyway, thought some of you might like to know about an event like this. Discuss!

*bump*

Is anyone going to this? or attended the previous ones?

I think I remember someone saying they went to the Rez one, and said it was pretty cool.

It IS cool. It's an awesome atmosphere, really. Some nice dancing, some great gaming, etc...

I was talking to TokyoRaver, and he said they might be bringing Gamer's Night Groove on the road around the country. So that'll be nice for people not in NYC :)
