Games for stupid gamers

So for christmas I have been included in the gift exchange for my girlfriend's family. I am buying for her little cousin but there is one little problem; he likes shitty games. So what should I do? He is very into soccer so I was going to get him Winning Eleven, figuring that's the best soccer game out. Well he wants some shitty 989 soccer game(which apparently his parents already bought), so my girlfriend won't let me buy him another soccer game. I was thinking I would get him Katamari Damacy, but figuring he likes crappy games, it's not going to be something he likes. So what games do you buy for the gamer that doesn't have a clue? I've always wondered how shitty games get bought, after meeting ths family I now know.

You should buy him an account at the GA forums. I'm the local forum broker so pay $500 in cold cash to me.

So yes, please buy him Katamari Damacy. If you're going to throw your money away might as well do it for a worthy cause.

No, no, man. This is an opportunity to educate a younger gamer about the beauty and complexity of good games. Don't settle for shit just because the kid has no taste. Be a hero. Get him a game he couldn't help but enjoy and play it with him for a little bit. If he doesn't like it, big deal.

Kumanoki is right and I suggest a bit of tough love on top of it. One day while his parents are out bring over a few good games like MGS3 and Katamari but also bring along a baseball bat. If he asks you why you brought those three items over simply explain to them that one of these will be played with and one of these will make you sleep for a month or two. The boy will learn.
