Playing as someone with superpowers is not what I expect in Resident Evil. But, then again, that hasn't really been the case since Code: Veronica.

If it's anything like the RE8 DLC then meh.

Gonna call BS on this.

Requiem is set in 2028, Rose is only 7 years old at this point in the franchise.

GameStop don't know what they're talking about.

Wesker's son in 6.

Game was absolute shite of the most offensively awful class, and it probably gave me cancer, but he did have powers.

For me as long as the character is good it doesn't matter the character is female or male.

I agree with you, if the character is well written why not. Its just that lately, it seems like games companies are just saturating the market with female protagonists in all the games.

I dont know when was the last time we got numbered mainline RE game with female protagonists? RE3?

Also 90% of games still have male as protagonists so having few games with female protagonists is not that big deal to me.

Of AAA games? Probably not. Although I don't think it's 50-50 or even greater in favor of female, it's much higher than just 10% for women.

Why would AI decide Rosemary was a good character to include for DLC. It would probably go with someone who has speculated in articles.

RE6. But then again that was everyone. If you are looking for RE games with a defined Female Primary Protagonist then yes it was RE3.

The winters family are the most boring family in gaming. No one cares about them and whether they live or die because the story for resident 8 to wrap up said family sucked ass.
I liked them, i like the Idea of normal ppl going against zombie/monsters ( at least this was the idea in RE7 ).

It breaks the generic super soldier characters of the old games.

I wonder if there will ever be a new resident evil game that gives it's fans actually what they want?

This new game is not at all what fans want, in my opinion of course!

As much as I like characters like Leon its hard to imagine him struggling against zombies.

What made RE2 effective because at that time Leon was normal cop who recently just got the job and he had no experience fighting zombies and other monsters.

This why I like Grace because just like Leon she had basic gun training but she has no field experience and no experience fighting zombies, which makes her good protagonist for survival horror games.

These days I much rather devs dont listen what so called "fans" want.

I wish they'd make some sort of prequel with the RE2R zombies and all copied straight into a 70s period in an eerie location or something. Just bring it back to B Horror schlock with heaps of atmosphere, decaying zombies that feel like dangerous walls of flesh, a gothic setting, antiquated technology

None of them are normal though. They're all bioweapons essentially and Ethan has no character cause they oddly kept choosing to hide his face even in the dlc ending haha.

Yeah, but we dont know that till later, also i dont mind not seeing someone face, i prefer a faceless protag than a silent one, i think that Eathan was good, he had great VA and compeling dialogue that made him grown on me.

Chris and Leon are both super soldiers ( human for Chris ) for me to believe that they are in danger, thats why the use of they both in a new game would e a mistake imo.

And thats why RE6 was so bad, there was no way for them to make a game with all this super soldier/humana and sell the feeling of eminent danger.

well, i'm a fan, all the way back to the original trilogy. &, between the remakes & re7/village, the developers've been giving me what i want. & i absolutely want requiem...

Holy crap, they managed to make me even less interested in the game than I already was.
This is all crapcoms fault. They tread This shit like the second coming. Fuck the secrecy, it's just a videogame.

Before you open the pre orders, you market this crap properly, which they didn't. RE7 had peak marketing from the getgo, even the stupid village game, but this just sucks.

All I know is, I haven't been excited by anything shown off so far. I really don't know what people are seeing in this game from what we know about it right now.

I thought the rumors about Leon being in were quite legit. Weren't there also screens with eye patch and all? I somewhat doubt that Capcom will go with two females protags. So far it was always either male only, females only or both.

Imo RE should moe to episodic games where each new game is a new outbreak on a new country with a common Joe trying to survive.

Time to move on.

Agreed, all the shit they're holding back makes me less interested in this game. What they've shown looks boring as hell, if they are really holding back some big surprise it better be worth it. I actually want to see a huge spoiler for it, because that might actually make me buy the game. As of now, I'm totally skipping this.

How would Nu-Capcom appeal to zoomers and the "modern audience" then? You have to keep in mind that modern Capcom isn't the same publisher that GenXers experienced during their younger years, and it is most definitely not the same as when us late-Millennials/early-GenZers were growing up.
