Gamestop sucks

The bastards at the Gamestop I went to had already Z-ed out their register before they were even closed. The ban has been placed on Gamestop!

They forced me to go all the way out to my local Wal-Mart 6 miles away.

Their district manager called me and apologized. Big whoop! Lata!

Won't be "stoppin" at Gamestop anymore!
did you really bitch THAT MUCH for them to tell the manager and have him call you? Seriously dude, do you have any shame?

yes it took me nearly a year to think of that, i wanted my wording to be perfect

Chris: haha ive had a few of those. They get MAD. This one guy was mad cause we wouldnt let him in after we were closed and he was banging on the window with his fists screaming.
I had that a few nights ago. The guy came in 3 times that day, the time he was banging on the door was his 4 trip to the store. I work at Gamecrazy which closes before Hollywood video which is not a good thing, here is the story...

Man's 1st Trip - Comes in purchased a used copy of True Crime: SoLA for Gamecube. Thought he was purchasing the newest version. AGAINST store policy I refunded the game and exchanged it for a new copy of True Crime: NYC.

Man's 2nd Trip - Came in with his new game was saying it wasnt working on his Gamecube and wanted his money back. Tried it out worked fine. He then told me it was a later level. I told him even so the game was working fine, disc was beautiful condition, plus it was a new game we don't offer refunds on the game. Furious he threw a handfull of games at me and wanted to trade them in. All but 1 out of 6 or so were scratched to beyond shit and I wouldn't accept them. The only one that could be taken back was Metroid Prime which in the computer said we had 18 copies of and the value of the game was below $1.

Man's 3rd Trip - Comes back with True Crime: NYC and a new smell of narcotics all over him. Has his memory card. It was a level still at the begining of the game on a subway or somthing. When multiple characters and even when a few characters were on the screen the game had horrible slowdown (which is to be expected from a crappy GTA clone). I told him thats not a problem with the game thats how the game was made. Guy continued to then swear at me and call me a moron at best. Left.

Man's 4th Trip -
Store is closed, door is locked, doing paperwork. Maybe 15mins after closing time I hear banging at the door. I look its the guy again yelling as loud as he can from the glass door. Look at him and make a signal like I'm pointing at my watch saying we are closed. 5 mins later man comes into Hollywood video and asks me "Why the fuck aren't you open?". I told him we close at 9 during the week, 10 fridays and saturdays. He continues to yell at me demanding his money.
(All of the Gamecrazy's I have seen have a fence sperating it from Hollywood. At closing we lock the front door and fence there and then close the fence at the Hollywood side all the way but don't lock it until we exit the store.)
The man then opens the fence and then comes behind the counter to the back where I'm finishing store operations. He smells of the worst shit imaginable and keeps swearing at me and telling me the game is scratched which it NOW is after the look of pavement to it. I get up and then yell at the guy to get out of the store and from behind the counter. He then ranted about why should he follow store policy if I didn't and how its fucked up etc. etc. One of the girls from the Hollywood side hearing this already called the cops who then came and escorted the guy out of the building only after he knocked over an entire shelf with reserve now cases.

Like stated in this thread, there are ALOT of good, awesome customers that you can talk games with and have a good time. Then there are people like this that ruin your night.

Z-ed out? What are you talking about?
It's when they calculate their final take of the day, balance the cash register, etc. Basically, it means no more transations that day. In this case, it means the employees closed the place early.

Edit: wow, this is old.

Holy shit, SanjuroTsubaki. What the fuck is wrong with people?

Uh, when you see people in the killing people and causing chaos, all over arguably objectionable cartoons - nothing surprises me.

People like that make me believe in Jack Thompson sometimes. But mainly its society's "America is free..Do whatever you want...And if you don't get it be a complete ass until they give in".

Whenever I go into a retail store I'm as pleasent as you could possibly be. Even if the employee does somthing wrong I would cut them them slack or even ignore it if its to a small degree. As far as I go, the times I have been rude to a customer is when I have been in defense mode after a really shitty customer. I don't mean anything bad by it, but customers like that do have an effect on you.

Yeah, but I expect that kind of behavior from organized religion.

SanjuroTsubaki: I blame the "CUSTOMERS ALWAYS RIGHT NOW GIMMIE WHAT I WANT" mentality that seems to have proliferated in recent years. It gives people like your smelly friend a twisted, bizarre sense of entitlement that makes him believe he is justified in his actions.

What we do at my store is close out one register at 8:30 and leave the other one going. We also stop taking trades at 8:30.

It just makes closing that much easier.
