Now that opens up a lot of terrible possibilities for those with auto and homeowners insurance.
Sure GEICO and all these insurance companies can get fucked but at the same time now I can be sued for tons of random shit and all my rates will go up.
This seems like a terrible precedent.

no clue how this shit works but ya i guess if its not going through standard court exceptionally dumb outcomes can occur. but from what ive read about arbitration they can request for a court case within 60 days.

If insurance companies can get sued for issues that have nothing to do with car accidents, then for any of you wanting some insurance money left it on the table.
Think of all the times you were in the car with family and you and your siblings were hitting each other. Could had gone after dad's insurance company and made a few bucks.
You dont even have to wait for car issues. It sounds like something that would be similar across all insurance. Next time someone does something dumb to you at your house or their house, go after the home insurance company and get a payout.

This isn't the court system (well maybe the supreme court), this is Geico getting fucked over by the loophole that they use to fuck people over. Geico included a forced arbitration clause so that they avoid class action lawsuits and now they get this insane arbitration result. Reap what you sow.
