Geist delayed to end of June ...

Geist, developed by Duke Nukem: Time to Kill creators n-Space, will possess the GameCube June 27. The game is a first-person shooter starring a soldier, or at least his disembodied soul. As the spirit of the soldier, gamers will be able to enter the bodies of animate and inanimate objects in this gory shooter.

Man this game must suck to take this long to come out? Just cancel the damn thing already.

:lol
Geist is a waste of Nintendo's money.
100k tops in the US

This is the worst year for XBOX shooters and they still get 3 better than Geist with TS3, Pariah, and Doom III.

Last I checked, TS3 is on the Gc and Doom III has been on the PC for ~9 months...

Geist is just another bad investment. Nintendo sold Rare, who made GoldenEye and PD and hook up some Ashley & Mary-Kate Sweet 16 developers to tackle at a FPS.

Geist is more filler than anything, the title is just another game to fill the summer schedule (which is quite sparce on the cube)

Doom 3 Xbox plays little like the PC version. I mean, on one hand, it Does but on the other hand, the levels have been changed around and of all 4 or 5 levels I've been through, I have only used the flashlight to look through 'bonus' areas and secret places. It's much nicer than the PC version, IMO. The story is largely the same. Levels seem to be in similar environments as well.

And Geist will need every developing minute possible. I would stick feeding tubes into the programmers' and designers' stomaches and force them to work 24/7 to get this game even decent enough to bear the Nintendo mark.

Well to be fair TS3 is on GC also..
But Republic Commando, Oddworld, UC2, Brothers in Arms and Project: Snowblind are not :P

Geist is one of those amazing games that actually seema to get worse over time ...

I remember thinking it was pretty promising at E3 2003. This month's GDC build didn't seem to have done much to improve the game engine, and instead they've loaded it up with hilariously bad cutscenes ...

Well Rare made Sesame Street games long before doing Goldeneye, so I don't think that necessarily means much.

I will always be intrigued by the gameplay concept behind Geist. Seriously, all first-person shooters are basically the same and when someone tries to do something different with the genre, no one is interested. Is it possible that the game will suck? Perhaps, but I have no reason to believe that it will aside from it's lackluster visuals, but since when do visuals make a game good or bad?

Remember that game for the DC called Geist Force? It was cancelled too. Anything with the word Geist in it must be doomed to failure...actually scratch that, wasn't there an old arcade game with the same name?

This is a pretty stupid blanket statement IMO.

The game has a good idea! Therefore it cannot be a bad game!

Just because it's an interesting concept doesn't mean the execution will work. You know, things like level design, controls, bugs, fun, and many other things besides a game's visuals and concept decide whether it will be good or bad.

They should make it a Revolution launch title, bump the graphics to PC like level and make it on- line. The only stupid thing Nintendo did with this title was showing it before it was ready... same with star fox. If we don't know about the game - they can develop it for as long as they need, and obviouslyGeist isn't anywhere near ready for release.

What I don't get even more though, is why some of you want this game to be bad :lol having more good games is always good...

Geist is OK/average looking, but seriously if Nintendo wants a FPS on the Revolution, uh, why not get (I dunno) RETRO STUDIOS to do it instead of friggin' n-Space.

Fix'd.

This is one of the fews game that I would make me happy if canned...The budget for this project could have been used for more interesting things (even sequels)...namely F-Zero GX 2, SSB:M2 or a 2.5D Metroid done by R&D1...

I would love for this game to come out and be one of the best releases this year just to see the responses of the people who have bashed the game.

I doubt it will, but it'd be a lot more humorous than it coming out and sucking.

That "Yeh, it sux because the demo sucked bla"-shit bores me. I'm waiting for the real game to judge. Maybe only the first level is boring ? Who knows ?

here's the cover:

I think the Geist box art is decent. Definitely NO WHERE near the nightmares that are the Rainbow Six console box arts (I thought I was the only one that hated those ugly things).

Why is there so much hate for geist? it doesnt look THAT bad.

No it doesn't look THAT bad, but it's a game that has been supported through development and is being publised by Nintendo. It just should have been better.
