Kind of, they dish out temporary bans at first, seems to be a 3 strikes and you're out system. Not like CS:GO or anything where the key is useless after getting banned the first time.
Reminds me of my Xbox PSO days. I knew my character would be banned by morning, so I had to get the money/items out there and traded ASAP
Someone should tell them that socialism isn't very rock star behaviour.

Audience interaction in general is the worst part of game streams.
Yeah, I mostly follow small and mid size streamers where they have enough followers to have some sense of community in the chat but it's not an unreadable complete shit show like the bigger channels.
But then again, I mostly follow streamers on smaller games anyway like Kerbal Space Program or World of Warships.

Could have mailed them to Gabe. They would have completed his collection, which would have triggered the release of Left 4 Dead 3 (because fuck Half-Life 3 at this point).
I got into twitch for about a month a couple years ago. Mostly watching a guy playing DayZ everynight who seemed to always be rude to the audiance about dumb shit. Also he didn't really want to be playing that game everynight, but it's the only thing he could play that would draw a large audience. Thankfully I came to my senses.
There are a ton of streamers like that. I used to watch some Hearthstone stuff and there's some amount of people who seem miserable that they have to play the same game ~8 hours a day because it's the only thing their audience will watch.

Why would they? They don't attend the conferences and barely go to the floor. Unless they let the public into their late night shows, Giant Bomb won't be impacted at all.

The last few Bombcasts have been fairly tough to listen to for me. I find they're dragging on a bit and the cast of people they've had has not been enjoyable.
I love when Will Smith is on because he brings a passion and insight that is very infectious. But I feel with Rorie and Jason they're just so fucking dour. When Ryan/Dan were on the casts it felt well balanced. Ryan was the energy, Jeff was the comedy, Brad was the straight man and Drew/Rorie/whoever was often a conduit for the audience.
But without the energy and the crazy the podcast reverts to being Jason talking very specifically about videogame button presses in whatever he's playing. Take their chat on Nioh - I just couldnt get away from how specific they were being about the combos, button presses, health items - etc.
I know, I know - stop bitching, stop listening, etc. But the Beastcast is now an incredible listen. It's very energetic and funny and reminds me of the 2010-2012 run GB had.
Anyway - am I alone in this thinking?

People get mad when they talk about games, people get mad when they don't talk about games. I would have been fine if it was 3 hours of Nioh talk because Jeff enjoying that game blows me the hell away
I'm not mad. I'm curious if this is a common theme since Dan has left the west coast. The podcast has seemed to struggle to energise itself (especially when you compare it to its bombastic east coast cousin).

it matters less what they talk about than how they talk about it. and bombcast - like UPF - reaaallly feels like it's just going through the motions. I'd rather they do things that they actually want to do. assuming they want to do anything at all.

Outside of ten minutes of some gross shit that happened to him every episode, it's not like Dan was ever that vocal on Bombcasts anyways.

I agree that the Bombcast feels sleepy as hell these days. I rarely finish an episode. I can't put my finger on what precisely it is but the current lineup certainly doesn't help.

it's because it's like they're going down a checklist* of things to talk about and they only talk about each one for a set amount of time before someone says "okay, next topic." it just sounds so routine and by the numbers
*the irony being that beast uses a checklist and it works well for them.
I think it's less that it's a checklist and it's more that the lineup doesnt work.

The best part of this week's Bombcast was the part where, at least in the beginning, Drew actually talked quite a bit. And I noticed one specific instance where Drew started to say something, and Jeff started to talk over him (as often happens), and Drew talked back over Jeff and continued with his point. And I thought, that doesn't usually happen. And I was like "Yeah Drew, that's what you gotta do."
Earlier this week I was thinking about who might be on the Bombcast this week, and then I said to myself, "As long as Jeff and Brad are there, it doesn't matter who else. Because they'll do 90% of the talking, to each other." That was true a lot of time when Dan was there, too. Those two just dominate the conversation.
And I didn't read any discussion about last week's Bombcast but the part where Peter Brown went on and on about old circuit boards and monitors, etc., was soooooo boring. Last week's episode was the first one - ever - that I almost didn't make it through.
