I don't much like Dave Lang, but I'll probably watch the Until Dawn portion of his stream later because of the positive reactions in here (and because I like Until Dawn and LPs of it - GBEast's playdates were really good).

OMG THE WORLD IS ENDING

But really I was looking forward to watching.

Lets hope that Drewlexis doesn't suffer the same fate

Austin showed love for Morrowind in his Far Cry 2 segment. Now I just want that to turn into some Morrowind content on GBEast.
Austin played far cry 2!? Best bomber confirmed.
I imagine the audience is "people who go to amateur wrestling events" and maybe Dan's family when he gets them all shirts for xmas.
I've seen the black rykert America shirt at exactly this place.

Also, have you looked at pro wrestling tees? 96 percent are straight garbage. Dan's are ok creative wise and executed well. PWT's are unbelievably bad.

Lang is doing great. I thought SF office would trump the others but the solo/home streams have been killing it this year.

The team donation goal is $250,000, with $250,000 also being the initial goal for the Giant Bomb guys themselves (which is probably something they'll change, but for now it's the same as the team goal).

Not to shit on a charity campaign of all things but I think this is the first I've ever seen fall so far behind their goal. In fact all live streams I've seen have always just broken their previous records.

What happened?

PS. I liked Lang the most. That's what I think went wrong :)

i feel like they didn't talk about it enough on the bombcast, which is the most popular thing they do

I don't think anything went wrong, they just set a too ambitious goal. Even if GB SF were going all out with incentives during their portion there's no way GB would get to 180k by themselves,or whatever they'd need to push 250k.

Pascual indicated on Reddit a while ago that GB had worked on the schedule for at least a month but had trouble getting it to fit everyone's schedule until last minute. So maybe they could've promoted it more, but doesn't seem like they got a clear picture of who were doing what until late in the game.

Anyways, they're the third best team. It's all good.

We already saw someone play Galak-Z for like two hours! Sloppy moves, Lang.

People were too busy giving to Game Informer's dope-ass stream.

Seriously, though, I think they just spread themselves too thin this year. It should've been a smaller set of longer streams instead of a half a dozen streams of varying length.

You think randoms donate in large amounts to these things?

Sure. I don't think generosity is just limited to the people that visit giant bomb.com/chat.

A larger audience is always better. When Dave Lang can get like double the viewers of the other streams then that means there's a whole crowd of twitch people the guys are unable to pitch and sell the charity on.

Yeah, I think the GBWest wasnt "in your face" with it enough. You gotta constantly be talking about it, settings goals, reading donations messages, ect. I can totally see them not wanting the stream to be about that but its a very effective method for motivating people -- you basically gotta gamify it and treat it like a hi score.

Good point.

Anyways, off to work. Enjoy the rest of the stream.
