[Escape Goat]

I was talking with a guy at the bar Saturday and instead of giving me his phone number he hands me a business card. He had a few of them and I kind of sat there and was taken back by the pretentious act of giving ones CARD out. At least it was a personalized "Professional Stud" card or something. But has anyone else encountered this phenomenon?

It's the "IN" thing to do. Instead of writing your number on some scrap of napkin, you can give a person a business card with some Hello Kitty style.

When I was working abroad, I always had a handful of fake cards (made-up address/phone number) at hand for annoying guests who "wanted to stay in contact" after their holidays.
Did you check that guys number?

It's called free advertisement. The man is probably, in part trying to be social, and perhaps get some business from you or someone you know... I don't understand what's not understood.

I do that, it saves the other person having to get their phone out, and me having to remember my Cell number...

Exactly. I'm trying to get rid of these things! I was promoted recently so now I have even more cards! :lol
