Gizmondo: a casualty?

I dunno. Does being stillborn make it a casualty?

High price + mediocre functionality + inability to attract developers outside of the cell phone/PDA development space = dead.

that's pretty much what I was going to post in this thread. :)

:lol :lol :lol

I'd feel sorry for them if they hadn't been so stupid as to release it in the first place. By the way, they were asking $432 for it! That's pretty delusional.

Also, what the hell is "Fathammer Classics" (apart from an awful title) and how can something be classic if I've never even heard of it?

Fathammer is a moderately successful mobile (cell/PDA) developer. I don't know what's in Fathammer Classics and I can't name any Fathammer games offhand (well, there's that racing game included with the Zodiac, does that count?) but that's their claim on a "classics" pack.

Yeah, I could toss $100 million in the bank and make several million dollars off the crappy low rate interest in a year.

I read it as Farthammer at first.

I've never even heard of Gizmondo before. Apparantly I haven't been missing out on much.

In addition to this, a recent SEC filing from Gizmondo over the lateness of its accounts indicates gigantic losses for the company in the period leading up to the handheld's launch, commenting: "For the year ended 2004, losses are expected to be approximately $100 million on revenues of $748,000."
