God of War 2018 PS5 patch incoming

I don't get it

i played the game at 60fps on PS5 the other day. Was it "only" 1080p 6 60fps or something?
 
Sweet. I don't often replay games, but I may do a quick NG+ run through of this before the sequel is out. Favorite game of last generation and one of three true platinums (i.e. full games and took some effort to get) that I've gotten.
 
Great news. I actually continued my game on PS5 last December, in 1080p. I will def continue once I'm done with Control.

If Horizon is next, I will absolutely buy Frozen Wilds and perhaps wrap up the plat.

NG+ run is really fun in this game. You can start off with GMGOW difficulty which is brutal but you also get some really cool NG+ specific gear that keeps thing fresh. Valkyries also drop double damage gear which halves your health for extra damage making fights a bit more challenging and rewarding.

The worst part about NG+ is that valkryies get extra moves so those jump valhalla moves go from just 1 jump to three jumps etc. the timing is also tweeked which makes sigrun pretty much impossible on NG+ GMGOW.

Co sign on Uncharted 60fps patch. Not the best Uncharted because Druckmann, but what's good is good.

Really want a killzone shadowfall 4k patch and a Ratchet and clank 60fps patch. There's others i'd love but some are unrealistic.

I don't like hard games so I'll likely just play on normal again. Mostly just want to refresh myself on the story via the sequel, have all the weapons from the start or earlier on (assuming that's a thing in NG+) and check it out in 4K60FPS and soak up the visuals now that I have a 4K/HDR TV that I didn't when I played back in 2018.

no idea. its bizarre because the game got a patch right before the ps5 came out. first patch in 2+ years and they didnt add a 60 fps 4kcb mode for whatever reason.

and yes, the ps5 disc version ran at 60 fps 4kcb but you couldnt use your NG+ saves.

inFamous runs at 60 fps and 4k if you unlock FR and select resolution mode in the settings. It is amazing. Plat'd it and Last Light when PS5 dropped. Feels like a new game.

I thought 4K checkerboard was a sort of "upscale" way to run 4k but actually at a lower resolution.

If they put 2160p that is true 4k. So it doesn't make sense to me.

I think they just misspoke. But you could be right, it doesn't make any sense, it has to be one or the other.
 
Good news, started a new playthrough a couple of weeks ago, this time searching every corner, every missed item.

IDK how PS5 deal with checkerboard. PRO have an own inbuilt checkerboard dedicated hardware, meanwhile PS5 don't (I guess).

Maybe temporal injection?

These days everybody says 4K / 2160p but it doesn't mean native 4K anymore. Hardly anything is ever native 4K anymore. Here it's CB 4K, so reconstructed from lower than 4K.
