Bad stupid pharmacist wants to make moral judgements? I guess I can show my displeasure by visiting another pharmacy.

Also, God says you should all send me $5 or candy won't taste good anymore.

where does it stop?

some religions don't believe in alcohol. so should a cashier at a store not ring me up if i can buy it?
some religions don't believe in eating pork, beef, or any dairy products. should a cashier at a store not ring me up if the store sells it?

Not to mention that some women actually take birth control for OTHER reasons then contraception.

Just stupid.

The law(statute, whatever it's called) says the pharmacist can refuse to fill those prescription base on morals, BUT she HAS to give it to another pharmacist to do it. It's not a pass to set store policies.

I don't have a problem with the idea that a pharmacist won't sell birth control or the morning after pill or whatever based on moral grounds. But I think #1, it should be well advertised, and more importantly, #2, companies should be allowed to have a policy that states they'll dispense birth control to everyone with a valid prescription and have the right fire someone who violates it.

Can stores refuse to hire pharmacists that won't fill legal prescriptions? If so this will just shift all the power to the major corporate pharmacies (Wal-Mart, CVS and the like) and let them drive local operations out of business even faster. If they refuse to compete on moral grounds, then fuck 'em.

What would be insane is if they weren't allowed to discriminate and you would never know going into any store whether or not you'd get your prescription filled.

I honestly thought that this battle would have been fought over RU-486, though. I mean aside from Catholicism, there aren't many other major religions that disapprove of birth control.

If you guys are confused by all of this, I know a song that should clear things up:

There are Jews in the world.
There are Buddhists.
There are Hindus and Mormons, and then
There are those that follow Mohammed, but
I've never been one of them.

I'm a Roman Catholic,
And have been since before I was born,
And the one thing they say about Catholics is:
They'll take you as soon as you're warm.

You don't have to be a six-footer.
You don't have to have a great brain.
You don't have to have any clothes on. You're
A Catholic the moment Dad came,

Because

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

It was.

The story then was thaat some woman was refused her perscription, but then the pharmacist wouldn't give her the perscription back and her cycle got screwed up.

A pharmacist can refuse to fill prescriptions for anything. At our store, if a suspected junkie comes in with a prescription for, say, xanax or lortabs, we jack the price up or flat-out tell him to take it elsewhere.

Yeah cause that just what's wrong with this country. We have a bunch of uppity women running around hopped up on birth control, stealing cars and commiting murder. About time the pharmists of this country did something to control this evil drug.

Don't bitch at me dude. Its not like this is a common occurrance anyway. Birth control makes up a LARGE portion of a pharmacy's business.

Doesn't this violate some sort of fair pricing policy? I mean, why not jack prices up for black people? What about for those dirty mexicans? Make them pay more too. No offense, but if this is a judgement call, then your pharmacy is just begging to be sued IMO. What does a "suspected junky" look like? PEACE.

I'm sure such discrimination happens in some pharmacies, but not ours. We don't really have a set pricing system. Basically the head pharmacist checks how much the drug cost us and pulls a price out of his ass. Sometimes people won't always get the same prices. But we're cheaper than any other pharmacy in town. Its a private-owned store and we get more business than Rite-Aid, Wal-Mart and K-Mart combined.

To clarify, we don't just look at people and decide if they're a junky. Its a small town and everyone knows everyone. If someone brings in a new prescription for lortabs every 2 weeks from a shady doctor then you know something is up.

Fuckers don't get into that line of work if it contradicts your beliefs.

More and more I'm feeling like: Fuck sensibilities, you need to beat shit into people to make them change, otherwise they'll do it to you first...

But that's the kind of mindset that changes african liberators into african warlords.

Moot point.

50, 100, or 200 years ago God "said" a lot of things that he doesn't "say" anymore.
Those in charge of influencing society = "God." Anyone who thinks otherwise is a brainwashed fool.

Good I say. If Male steroids are banned, female steroids should be banned as well. Both are harmful to the person.

For the record, I'm for lifting the ban on all steroids but they might as well be consistent with hormones.
