Yeah, I've actually heard of that phenomenon before. The characters in these screens are suffering from something else though, I think -- I've seen more lifelike renders than this that don't look nearly as creepy. I think a lot of this is just bad design/modelling.

360 version looks shit. No better than I'd expect from an xbox version. Look at the jacket on that guy with his back to the camera - shit textures and low poly. And thats in what looks like a cutscene - realtime controlled stuff I might forgive.

Anyway, I'm assuming a PC port.

EA will spend some money attempting to take more marketshare next gen (witness madden), but probably not on something like this.

I'm guessing it is EA sucks for porting the PC version over to the X360. Because the first thing that screamed to me seeing these pics is, "Must be the pc version.".

What did people expect exactly? EA, of all people, to build assets for a multiplatform game from the ground up for each platform?

They'll do that for Madden and stuff, but not for a one-shot title. especially since this is going to be one of the most expensive -- if not THE most expensive -- game productions ever.

This game is my number one, top of my list game I'm looking forward to on XBox 360, as it's not a sequel or something I'd like to play more on PC to justify all the money I spend on my PC. It's also said to be the last recorded acting work of Marlon Brando.

I wouldn't get into a spirited defence of this game, I'm not going to start telling you if Coppola had only made Godfather out of plasticine models it would have been much better. Buuuuuuut.

I want new next generation. New, New, New. Just like I got last generation. I want new franchises, like I got Halo, DMC, Jak, etc. I understand the new graphics hotness centers around anything to do with Unreal Engine 3.0, not anything EA have shown. And I understand Gears of War is the torch bearer for that, but GTA style games are my favourite genre.

So maybe I'm going to have to make some compromises for my new obsession. First year of console ownership is all about playing filler until the good stuff comes along.
