Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

New mods available now

  • Diablo 1 HD Mod / Belzebub (Diablo + Hellfire)
  • Ashes 2063 (DOOM II)
  • GMDX (Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition)
  • KeeperFX (Dungeon Keeper Gold™)
  • RealRTCW (Return to Castle Wolfenstein)
  • SWAT: Elite Force (SWAT 4: Gold Edition)

I was going to quote only a few and be like "time to play those" but damn, they are all bangers. Nice job from GOG.

I'd be keen to rebuy RTCW there (have on Steam, derived from a physical steel book copy no less, one of my first Steam games iirc) and mod it since even with the patch I downloaded for my Steam version I cannot get the game to engage vertical synchronisation of any sort, internally or externally, so it constantly tears and its annoying af.

Forgot how fun the gunplay is in it, and how crazy the movement speed is 😳 almost sickening on a 65" TV with high sensitivity mouse input lol

Played the Diablo HD mod, looks great in super ultrawide. The new classes are cool! This also makes the merchants much better, more like Diablo II where they have their own inventory (instead of the original, which was a text-based menu). Much improved there.

They also added a private stash with tons of tabs, and even in the first few levels I cleared I got two unique weapons. Quests now have quest markers above NPCs heads. They added a waypoint system to the game similar to Diablo II as well.

Overall, this is a very much improved version of a cherished classic. And the original game is still available, if that's your jam.

great selection and how does stalker anomaly compare with the recently released enhanced editions of the first 3 games?
Anomaly is fun enough to play, but even with its "story" content it totally feels like a free-play mod (which it is). Which is fine by me, because I enjoy tooling around the Zone, but others complain that it feels "empty" not having a narrative thread to follow. I can see where they're coming from.

I can say that Anomaly compares favorably to GAMMA. They decided to replace the perceived "emptiness" with "muh progression," and everything is a loot slog to the nth degree.

You can still hit some of the main story beats in Anomaly, though, during the "story" mode. You basically do all the plot "dungeons," the same as they were in the original games.... just for different "story" reasons. It's... fine. A lot of fun to play. The swamps are freaking terrifying at night.

Doom II isn't needed for Ashes 2063, so anyone can play it. Don't underestimate it because being free, it's easily one of the best FPS of the last 15-20 years, specially because its atmosphere and level design. The second episode becomes very ambitious, basically a mix of Doom and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Hell, even I'm not making it justice, because it feels more a Build Engine FPS than Doom. Don't miss it.

Edit: my apologies, the gog version require Doom II. Anyway, you can download Ashes 2063 in Modb if you don't have Doom II.

To anybody even remotely interested in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. go and grab Anomaly!

And if you don't do this, don't bother owning a PC. It's lost on you.

It seems you need to own Doom II in your library to add this on gog, at least labeling on the product page implies that might be a case. I wonder if they will add Blade of Agony in the future which was also GZDoom game

Huh, I didn't know it, thanks. I edited my previous message.

Anomaly is basically a sandbox with the maps of the first 3 games stitched together, with a storyline and some other things

That said, IMHO modded Anomaly is miles ahead of Enhanced Edition.

Anomaly looks awesome. Just looking through some vids right now. Need to play that. :messenger_smiling_hearts: Its crazy this mod already has hundreds of mods for itself.

This is the coolest shit ever. Never thought we'd see a store package mods in for easy access. I love Belzebub and The Hell 3 mods for Diablo 1. Gonna give this a go.

Thanks, I was about to post and ask specifically about this mod, but you saved me the trouble. Much appreciated.

This is a great idea.

A lot of times installing mods is a bothersome endeavor and can lead to errors and conflicts. But having the game modded and ready to go without worrying if you did something wrong? Sign me up.

Also, KeeperFX is awesome.
