Guys, I am not getting any younger and I have a burning desire right now to go back to school. I've been at my place of employment for 11 years, but it's not cutting it. Nowhere to move, raises are very minimal and the main thing is, it's to the point where I really dreed going into work daily.

I want to get into the technology field, I believe (I know that is vague maybe web design or cyber security), but not quite sure what and how to even get started. I do have a meeting with a recruiter at a campus nearby, but I am kind of lost.

Can anyone give tips to someone who has been out of school for almost 16 years.

It can be done! I went back to school after 17 years. Left school three years later with a 4.0 gpa, a new degree, and a pretty good job. :)

I am happy to help however I can. have you looked into community college courses for your first year or two of coursework? Will your employer reimburse you for any tuition?

Thanks. I would just not be getting my associates, I have looked at community colleges here. My company reimburses up to $5k annually, but I haven't dug much into the option yet.

It's be the same

Just started myself and am going for forestry to help conserve our nations state and national parks. It feels good to get out and start learning again and working towards a long term goal. But Trump's recent actions have been a huge "fuck you" to me regarding my goals.

I guess the main issue, and it's a big one, not sure what I would want to get my degree in.
Get a degree that will be useful in the near future. You mentioned the tech field so go for Computer Science or CIS.

Are there any other areas besides tech that interest you?

Tech is my main interest, I actually looked into being an Air Traffic controller as well. I just feel like I have a job and not a career.
