You can tell that the first one is young-- his coloring is mostly black. When we got my dog, he was pretty much all black, with a little brown on the head; as he's aged, the brown areas expanded and he's gotten a nice silver color, too. Some of the black is still there, obviously, mostly along his sides towards the bottom and on his back. His legs and butt and head are almost all brown.
Now that I look at it again, the second dog looks a bit like mine, but my dog's ears don't fall straight down on the sides like that, and his face is a bit fuller. Having two of them is great-- it's what the vet said that you should do if you have Yorkies, because they really need a lot of attention/stimulation.
Both are the same dog actually. He was about a year old when we took the pic and he's over two years old now. I don't have any pics of the new pup since my digital camera broke but he's only 4 months old and less then half the size.
And what is it with dogs and mailmen? I swear mine FREAKS when he comes and even when he doesn't see him and we take out the mail he starts freaking out at the mail and attacks it. Funniest thing - my mailmen actually tied up our mail one day and threw it towards our door cause he was afraid of it, I mean it's like 8 lbs!
