Rockstar working on a GTA title for Sony's new handheld...
Sony's forthcoming PSP recieved a massive boost today as Rockstar announced that they are working on a portable version of their multi-million selling franchise Grand Theft Auto. In a move away from the 80s setting of Vice City and the gangsta stylings of San Andreas, the portable action is to take place in Liberty City, as seen in the first of the series' 3D outings, GTA 3.
Rockstar North, developers of the outrageously successful home console version, have handed over the reins for the portable conversion to Rockstar Leeds, who are also working on a PSP version of Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. These are certainly exciting times for the handheld market, with the PSP shaping up nicely and the Nintendo DS selling masses in Japan and the US. With each of these systems believed to be released over here in or around March, we can all look forward to some quality handheld gaming in the months ahead.
