I don't understand how they're going to stretch that into 2 hours? What's the plot? Just them trying to survive and get back to earth somehow?

Honestly Sandra Bullock as an astronaut.....cant see it. George is a stretch too but not as big. If they had no-names cast in this the trailer would have been 100x better. Pretty much everything looks top notch. Scary concept too.

It's a teaser trailer, 5 months ahead of release. Relax.

Also, probably. And it's awesome.

Looks good but I hope that wasn't the whole movie. Whats the plot? Conflict? Are they flying through space and its talking heads for an hour and a half?

Looks awesome and I agree that this will be an awesome movie to see in 3D (usually don't care about 3D).

This looks like in space version of those 2 divers who got stranded in the sea film. I wonder if the ending is even similar. Minus
the shark
, of course.

probably flashbacks? how they met? training sequences? their families? do you want aliens to show up and save them?

it's gonna be pretty hard to sell this film anyways if it's just sandra bullock isolated in space.

Seriously.
That's what i thought when i first read the premise.

This trailer was kind of disappointing beyond that, though.
I hope he won't be forcing stupid action into this film, given the premise, since it's all CGi, i don't want to see a scene where they have to "thrillingly" avoid space debris with incredible CGi stunts.

Also disappointed in the addition of sound, when the mechanical arm breaks, can Kubrick be the only one who did that fucking thing right?

With all that said, as i mentioned before, i trust Cuaron and i'm sure he can pull this off.

Let's be honest, trailer looks average at best. At the same time, I reckon it must be hard to translate what makes his work great into the confines of a trailer.

Why do I get the feeling that this thread is going to be a good source of crow once Bullock surprises everybody and hits it out of the park?

Don't treat this like a blockbuster/popcorn flick, because it won't be. This will most likely be a very intimate film.
I hope so, as that's what i'm expecting.
This trailer felt far too "spectacular", though.
I do remember the reports that Bullock has been asked not to wear any makeup in this film. Cuaron trying to make this ultra-realistic.
Ok, that's damn cool.

Why do I get the feeling that this thread is going to be a good source of crow once Bullock surprises everybody and hits it out of the park?
I'll eat it with a smile on my face.
Having a great film > Confirming my bias.

The trailer sold me on a sci fi thriller. If I went into the theater and its Sandra Bullock and George Clooney love story I'd want my money back. If that is the case then, yes, aliens would be a welcome distraction.

I'm conflicted. The screenplay to this is fantastic, and it's been a while since Cuaron has disappointed me. But... Sandra Bullock is shit.
All these years getting hyped for the next Cuaron film...and then Sandra shows up.
Why do I get the feeling that this thread is going to be a good source of crow once Bullock surprises everybody and hits it out of the park?
What crow is there to eat? She could pull a (second, ugh) Oscar winning performance, and she's still Sandra Bullock.

hmmm... they dont use their visors while out in space? wouldn't the sun melt their faces due to the radiation? Also, space is suppose to be vacuum

The bubble is covered by the Extravehicular Visor Assembly. The visor is coated with a thin layer of gold that filters out the sun's harmful rays. The visor also protects the spacewalker from extreme temperatures and small objects that may hit the spacewalker.

lol ultra realistic

Looks good. Kinda wish I didn't see the trailer now, since I knew it was going to be good anyways, but eh. In Cuaron I trust.

I don't think I want to see this. Not cause it looks bad, but because the film premise just seems incredibly scary. I already got freaked out by the teaser trailer.

Wow that's cool that it takes place in contemporary space, even a few years old since it's got the Shuttle in it. Horror, in real space? Hypothetically the scariest kind of space horror! Trailer looks outstanding and I trust Cuaron to deliver something different. I agree with whomever said this is probably just the first 20 minutes.

Looks really good. The idea of a thriller or a horror movie in space sounds insane, I hope they pull it off.

The openness of all of it seems surreal.

Instantly pulled out of the experience when I saw Clooney's face in the suit, for whatever reason it just seems weird to me, but it looks good nonetheless.
