For me it has nothing to do with his acting ability, he's charismatic and I generally enjoy him, but seeing him as an astronaut is just weird. Solid trailer, but after the years of total mystery surrounding the premise it's kind of disappointing that it seems to just be a space-disaster movie. Was hoping for something a little more high-concept, though I guess there could definitely be more to it - like, maybe it's all a (faked) continuous shot like the ending of Children of Men.

The other thing that has me a bit worried is the abundance of CG; CoM was incredible to watch because the use of CG during action scenes was so minimal in that. I want to be wowed technically again, and I kind of feel like relying on greenscreens is "cheating." Oh well, we'll see!

It's not even that, I think I'm just having a hard time disassociating his character from him as I've never seen him in a role like this. It might also be due to not knowing he was in the movie before I watched the trailer. I knew Bullock was in it so it didn't strike me as weird.

It's pretty annoying wearing 3D glasses over my own glasses. And 3D movies rarely look better (Dredd and Avatar are exceptions), blurry and dark.

It's too bad only Nolan wants to do 2D Imax.

Hype. I agree about the media blackout, lets do it. I don't want to spoil any plot developments beyond the trailer. God I love this premise. It reminds me of the story of the commander of the iss (Chris Hadfield) quote about his space walk, he said something like: " I was in my spacesuit, I held on to the ISS with one hand and let myself hang, seeing an abyss of nothing for billions of miles away below me, I would highly reccomend it.
