Do you mean you're speculating that's what's going to happen, or is it fact that that is going to happen and you're merely speculating WHEN it happens?
If it's the latter I really wish I didn't read that spoiler. :(

How many set pieces could there possibly be in the cold vacuum of space? A meteor flying by? More space debris? She lands on the moon? What I do know is that there's going to be at least one moment in the film for about two minutes where she's going to stop freaking out, be calm, and just watch the stars.

i haven't read the script and i haven't been spoiled. so all of that is speculation worded badly.

Yeah, I love Children of Men, but almost all the trailers for this have been leaving me cold. Maybe it's something that will work better in context.

I honestly think the music and the VA is what's really killing it for me.

Well, they sort of were. The whole car scene in CoM was full of CG. The windscreen, the fire, the roof, the bike. Loads of CG elements.

I have no idea. I know they used a special robotic camera system as mentioned previously in the thread, I guess they could have match moved some elements onto CG plates but I really have no idea.

I'm not sure why people have a massive issue with it, I think it looks amazing. Yes it's CG - it would be impossible to shoot most of what you saw in that trailer practically.

I have faith that the story and the visuals will be enough to suspend my disbelief for 90 minutes, and allow me to enjoy myself.

Sure, i'm not seriously saying they shouldn't have used CGi.
However those faces in those suits look weird, so probably they should've used real suits (not necessarily as heavy and pressured, they just need to look real).
 
I'm also feeling a bit of a disconnect; I think what is causing that for me is a lack of intensity in terms of expressed fear or terror, especially as the face is the focal point (for obvious reasons). I hope these trailers aren't really indicative of the performances as a whole.
 
I really dunno much about the film outside of the trailer, actors and director. I hope that there are more interesting factors involved. The trailer makes it look like the best scene from Cliffhanger, but for a whole movie.

Well considering his last film is one of the best of the 2000's, not really surprised that people are excited for this.

I'm pissed that they played the trailer before Elysium, I didn't wan't to see shit from this movie, I closed my eyes (lol) but I heard everything... can't. fucking. wait. anymore.

I didn't like Children of Men. I know, I know...
 
I honestly think the trailer is better than the movie. Either that, or they should have toned down the Hollywood in this action packed trailer. They make it look like an action movie.
 
So it's apparently fantastic?
I planned to see it anyway, but good to know. I was really baffled by the trailers - while stunning i didn't really know what the movie would be about.
 
But perhaps the boldest risk of all was the decision to combine these elements in a manner that would hold up under the prolonged scrutiny of the camera, in single-shot sequences of such breathtaking duration and coherence. Somewhere, one imagines, the spirits of Stanley Kubrick and Max Ophuls are looking down in admiration.

I have a few friends who are working on the post production side of this and they were raving about it.

I saw some of the early stuff and even then it looked fab. This will definitely be an IMAX experience for me.
 
"And with the director being careful to ensure the void of space doesn’t carry any noise-" I am most pleased. I was looking forward to it a large amount initially but this was one of the things I was most curious about. I'm extremely hyped for this movie now, particularly with the praise it is receiving.
 
So according to that review, this movie mainly focuses on Sandra Bullock's character and Clooney is only a bit part? I'm definitely less excited now.
 
I'll be heading into this virtually blind (I'm aware of the premise but have been deliberately avoiding everything else), but it's nice to see the film reviewing well.
