GRAW vids showing off two new maps

Thanks. Game looks good. Between this and Oblivion March can't get here soon enough.

This will be my first Ghost Recon game. I'm curious...for anyone who knows....is there any close combat at all? Like maybe knives and stuff (for stealth)? Or is it strictly shooting?

Strictly shooting. Though in the first one where you can go inside buildings, there was tremendous tension when you were in close quarters and you were afraid to go around a corner.

Game somehow reminds me of SOCOM, in particular the character movements. This should be good & looking like true next-gen material. GRAW has the ball in its court, only it's shortcoming can it allow a lame BF2:MC port to beat it.

If this game is a good as the impressions from 1up.com and others suggest, we could be looking at a major turning point for the franchise...

I am not a fan of Ghost Recon games at all.....that said, GRAW is a must play for me...I'm sure I'm not the only one either.....

Unless something goes horribly wrong, I think GRAW will elevate the Ghost Recon franchise to blockbuster status.....a system seller for the X360...

This could potentially translate to mega-sales numbers (I'm gonna go with 1M+ copies of the X360 version by the end of 2006) for future Ghost Recons because of its multiplatform status....

If Ubi don't screw this up, they could be onto another major cash cow franchise....

Is this footage of the SP or MP mode?

Since these are multiplayer maps, I would assume it's using the multiplayer engine for graphics even though the guy is just lone wolfing on the map and trying to kill 40 computer controlled soldiers.

The first two XBOX GR games sold quite well. At leas 500,000+ apiece. The game already has a built-in fanbase (like msyelf).

I'm fully confident that Ubi Soft will deliver yet again. I plan to basically hibernate and play this game the day it comes out.

Ah.

The MP mode looks a lot worse than the SP, too bad they couldn't get MP working with SP graphics :/

Oh yes...I am aware Ghost Recon is a good, if not great seller....but I am talking about the next level(Think Splinter Cell one)......GRAW X360 looks so good, IMO, it might draw in non fans better than any GR before.....there is a "coolness" to this game I can't put my finger on.....it just.....looks cool :)

Again, to me, Ghost Recon=meh.....*but* GRAW X360=<3 in my view....

I can easily see mainstream gamers lapping this stuff up....it is my current most wanted near-term game for X360....

Oh wow. First time I've seen GRAW in motion. Looks absolutely awesome.

Also, that site is pathetically slow.

The first Ghost Recon on X-Box sold over 1 million copies and was the dominate online game over LIVE for quite some time.

Point me towards this supposed 'Tolerant-Age' will you? I must visit it. :)

It's the one series that I played constantly online. I can't play run-n-gun shooters that well, but on Ghost Recon, I basically only played online (hated the SP in the first one).

GR had the best community of any XBL game I've played. There were a couple of idiots that shot their teammates, but that was few and far between. The majority of the people on my friend's list is made up of GR players from years ago.

Will you be able to give us some impressions?

Looks amazing. I think the RE4-styled third person view will make military games like this so much more immersive, especially with the great looking camera movements they're doing. I love the sound of the gunshots and the sound effects, too. And the music is fantastic.

Btw, this >>>>>>>>>>>> Gears of War. ;)

Great videos. I never thought I could orgasm over such detailed enviroments, brilliant. The death animations are great too. Gears of War cry. :)

Dammit...who is that in your avatar??? (3rd thread I have posted this)

Her name is Chessika. I'm VERY sure you will have no problem finding her on the internets. *wink, wink*

I love the ambient music they've put into GRAW. Reminds me so much of something from 24. Makes the game feel even more tense then usual. Hopefully when DLC comes around they have a few winter style maps

that video looked incredible. hot damn. now, i need to see more single player :)

Uh, this is going to sound snide but really, has anyone actually played Gears of War?

I mean, I already love the Ghost Recon series, but to make some claim that this game will be better than GoW, what're you basing that on? Has anyone seen a near-final build of Gow? Has anyone seen a level play-through?

Looks great, so much more interested in this than Gears of War. Ever since Freedom Fighters had the cool over the shoulder view i've hoped more games would have it. I hope you can toggle it though. While it looks cool, a regular fps view is better.

speaking of gears of war, i need help finding a video...

it was either from tgs or x05 (iirc) and was an extended version of the stage at night in the rain. instead of ending when marcus runs inside the building though, it continues on to a "mine cart" style level.

No we havent. But the footage we have seen so far does not look very exciting like GRAW IMO.

Oh, I agree. But we've seen nothing but early footage of GoW and there are preceding titles in the GR series so we pretty much know what to expect.

My point is, Andy787 brought up GoW as if he knew something about how the game will play in comparison to GRAW. I was genuinely asking what he knew about GoW that no other poster here knew.

We don't know how GoW will play. It could very well suck, but we don't know that. I'm positive GRAW WON'T suck though. I just fail to see what that has to do with GoW. Eh, whatever.

Yeah, I saw that video. That level looked like it could be pretty fun. I'd love to see an updated version of the game. Or even a 1st level run-through. But I don't want to derail this thread.

Is the release date of GRAW etched in stone? Or could this game get pushed back. This and Oblivion are my must-haves for next month.

my friend who works there says they finally got a 360 debug and are playing full versions of GRAW and FNR2 as we type, can't wait to hear more impressions.
