Great comic collection ever. Seriously.

Wow. That's one of the coolest auctions I've seen.

Though, it strikes me as odd that these comics would just be piled on one another in baggies with backers. Doesn't that have some kind of acidity or something that messes up the comics?

Nah, those are acid-free posterboard backers. He doesn't have them all CGC'ed out (a company that professionally rates and packages comic books for collectors), but they're stored adequately.

EDIT: Actually, the top two issues of Superman & Batman are packaged by CGC.

The price, man. The price. One could buy a HOUSE with that money, pay off their education, get a couple nice new cars, etc.

Well there's got to be someone out there with priorities that put an epic comic collection near the top of his list...Or he already has that stuff.

Totally agree. But for comic collectors like Nick Cage, it's pocket change.

My dad has over 100,00 comics, including all of these posted in the eBay ad. His library is quite good. My favorites are his Appleseed, Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck and TinTin collections.

Realize that comics like those posted in the eBay URL are a better investment than Mutual Funds.

Pssh. Instead of comics, Jay Leno collects cars (160 and counting), and employes 5 full-time staff plus other specialists to take care of his "collection".

And Seinfeld bought an apartment complex next to his home in NY so he could turn it into a 1.4 mil garage to house his car collection.

The more money people make, the more they spend.
