Okay, so my guild wars 2 account got hacked a couple of weeks ago. After several emails and tickets I've finally got it back, all my characters are in tact, loot etc. And I was able to freely transfer my character back to Stormbluff Isle.
However the best part - the hackers character had OVER 37 BLACK LION CHESTS?! that almost makes up for the unrest of getting my account hacked.

Black Lion Chests are useless without keys. Most people have at least 50 chests in their bank with no keys

It all comes with time. It comes really quick if you WvW. Well, it doesnt seem like a grind at least. I'm currently sitting on over 600k karma with absolutely nothing to spend it on.

Man, those dungeon runs were a blast yesterday. I will ALWAYS be down for things like that. I need to run lots of CoF for my Berserker gear, though. Thankfully, p1 is a joke, I"m not sure how easy/hard p2 is.
Also, Subject Alpha in CoE was annoying as shit. It'd be nice if that one frontal earth spike had any sort of tell.
In total, I made just shy of 3g last night. Very happy with that.

I want to know this too! I have been playing under the rule of "don't salvage unless it's blue or lower quality" but I don't know what I should actually be doing with this stuff. It seems like you get the same stuff when salvaging lower quality items vs higher quality items, so I usually forge/sell my greens and yellows...

For a while I tried salvaging my yellows for globs of ectoplasm. A lot of the time I would break even on ectos (10 ectos from 10 yellows, even though some gave 0 and others gave 2-3) I got tired of getting 0 from some yellows, and now I just sell the items on the TP. They sell for close to the price of an ecto becasue people buy them to salvage. I say let someone else worry about randomly getting nothing from a salvage.
I vendor blues and greens, and make ok cash from it. I salvage whites for materials, and get a decent amount of tier 6 mats from them sometimes.

Yea that was a lot of fun, the mumble celebration after the path 3 victory was pretty great. Definitely have to do some more runs at some point.
The general rule for level 70+ loot:
Whites: Salvage. Especially with more bots banned, the materials will be goin up in price. However, lately it's felt like demand is going down because there are still too man people farming Orr and selling materials themselves.
Blues/Greens: Vendor. Every once in a while you'll find equipment of this variety you can sell for a profit. Usually sets like Traveler's or Berserkers, and to people who are gearing up with them as they save for their exotic set.
Yellows: Master Salvage Kit. Or an equivalent kit (Black Lion, Mystic). You're looking for Ectoplasms here mostly, as they're needed for all high level weapon/armor/trinket crafting, and for Legendaries. Like the above, you can sometimes make a profit selling them to people looking to kit themselves out with a set before they get their exotics. You can also end up selling to people just looking to buy them and salvage them themselves to gamble at a possible profit with the Ecto market.
Orange: Salvage/Trading Post. An Exotic you don't want is pretty much equal to a Rare, although you might want it for yourself to try and salvage for Ectos or whatever Superior Rune is inside.
Personally? When I want more money I vendor everything unless it can give me Ectos. When I was looking for the salvaging monthly achievement, I'd salvage whites, blues, and some low value greens.

That was one of my crowning MMO achievements, I won't lie. That path 3 victory was SOOO clutch. <3
Leaves me a little worried, that was quite an achievement for us, and on my first night of trying out dungeons... Will I ever achieve that same high again? Or just spend my life chasing it...

I got banned one time on GAF - it was for trolling. If only....
I saw those. Are they actually boxes? I gather they are a 20 slot box that contains some random equipment of the rarity type you buy (so maybe a few pieces of exotic for the exotic box?).

Anyone know what time the patch drops today? I am crazy excited about this new dungeon. Going to need another dungeon mega group as soon as we're ready for it!

It doesn't drop today. It drops tomorrow. About 29 hours from now.
All I care about now in this update, is the Ranger and Engi changes.....Wish they would post the notes early.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up for the engi fixes since it's probably just bug fixes and some talent tweaks.
That's what I say on the outside. On the inside I'm hoping for a ton of reworks.

Hmm not much turnover in the Hawk train last night. Was hoping for some CoE action. Oh well, I did do all 3 paths from SE (I only did path 3 before). And I don't see how anyone can do path 1 properly. If you haven't tried it before, basically there is an group of silver-ranked mobs that continuously spawn in waves. The problem was that we had to defeat two bosses while those mobs kept spawning on top of us. We eventually did it after several repair costs and bruteforcing our way through, but that was not fun in the least.

That being said, I'm down for more dungeon fun tonight if anyone else is. Money was pretty good, but the overall dungeon experience on Mumble was absolutely a blast. I want to learn more paths and more strats so I can comfortably put my own groups together. For example, Klez (not sure who you are on GAF) mind-fucked us on AC p1 with the kill order for the burrows. Awesome.

It was a guild event! Make guild groups and run dungeons. GAF Guild isn't comprised of just Hawkian you know.
People gotta take initiative and organize things! On that point, it's a bit frustrating how people lie dormant until Hawkian pops in and says hi, haha. There's been times I've said things and tried to get some response or get a little chat going to no avail. Seconds later, Hawkian will say, "Hi everyone" and get 10+ responses. That's the fault of the guild members.

I mean, it was sort of a guild event in that an all-guild party ran 5 dungeon paths in a row
But it wasn't an official scheduled event or anything like that, those will always be posted on gafguild.com and announced with more time in advance. Last night was just me wanting to make a bunch of money fast and trying to put a group together who was willing to do multiple runs. We just filled up quick. Sorry about that, but definitely don't let my presence or lack thereof keep you from starting your own group simultaneously. We could even have informal races along the lines of the organized ones we've done before.I am definitely down for some more tonight although I think I'm going to see Skyfall at some point so it can't be quite as intense a session.
SE Path 1 is (intentionally or not) best sort of "stealthed" through. There's a spot you can go where the waves will just run past you, a bit off to the right after the waypoint (sort of a cliff). You want to time your runs so that you go right after a wave passes. Then you carve through the barriers, spike down the bosses when you reach them; after the second boss the spawns aren't relevant anymore. It's a gimmicky path, took a lot of trial and error to get right.

Yep, that's what we did. Just hugged the gate past the second boss to avoid aggroing the spawning mobs as we fought him and the singularities.

How are you not banned yet? The only reason I can think of is that the mods think that because you're so obviously trolling that they think you're just being playfully antagonistic.
They're 20 slot bags that automatically sort gear based on rarity (e.g. If you purchase the exotic box, any exotics you loot will automatically be placed there.) That particular feature is alright, but getting a 20 slot bag for 150 tokens is nothing to sneeze at. Especially if Fractal Relics drop in quantities similar to the other dungeon tokens.
You should be using Guild Chat, as PUGs are a surefire way to drive yourself away from the game. If you're not in GAFGuild, we'll have plenty of room for you by the end of the day.
Actually, the patch is supposed to drop today around noon PST / 3PM EST, but the Lost Shores event doesn't begin until tomorrow. We should get the patch notes today or tomorrow, in theory.

Not gonna be that severe, and notices have been up for a while. Besides, as always, we have an open door policy; if you were kicked out during a purge, it's not because of something you did and you are absolutely welcome back. Just whisper Ashodin or any of the other officers for an invite back.
The goal is to free up some space for people in the main guild by culling people who aren't logging in often (i.e. active players)
I meant to say notes, and edited my post to fix that. I have a habit of typing things by reflex if I'm not paying full attention, and "patch day" is one of those things. Sorry for the confusion.
