Is the guild still pretty full? I guess I got kicked (totally justifiable after a long absence) but if you're no longer bumping against the cap I'd like to get back in. I probably won't play a ton til after the holidays, so if not I won't be offended.

I wonder if Skritt are deeply offended whenever Asura are described as "rats" ;)

It probably depends on how many Skritt are present at the time of the offense. If its a single Skritt, he's probably not intelligent enough to recognize that the noises being made are actually forming words, much less ones that could be construed as offensive. If it's a large mob of Skritt, their collective intelligence might be enough to recognize that their species is being used as a pejorative to insult a different species. At least for a few seconds, before they get distracted by shinies.

Nah. Just under 200 members now. Just whisper an officer to get back in :)

It's open for new members. If anyone needs an invite message me in game Ferny or Villeon.

So long suckers >_<!

Does this mean you'll finally stop with the constant updates or are you just going to play out this schtick until you get banned?

Uh, could I get back in the guild? I haven't been so active recently but I still play it on and off and plan to play Lost Shores. WHY GAF, WHY

Because. Whisper Ferny, Ashodin Venteal, Hawkian The Blade, Gojira, Professor Retro, Nephenee Reginleif, or Wallach to get back in.

Last I checked we weren't hurting for spots in the guild. I'm sure you could up the limit to a month and be just fine. Now I can't get back in because there are no officers online. Maybe I'm missing the reason we're so anal about it.

We haven't had a culling since September 17th, and we were back up to 440 members (cap is 500). Since EuroGAF recently sort of died (Naito and Mulligan sort of fell off the face of the earth) we cleared up some room for them to transition over to SBI. Plus, loading the guild window actually causes the game to lag because there's so many people there. It seems strange to be at the 500 account limit when there's only 50 or so active members.

It's just housekeeping, we took a long time to tell people we were going to do it, and we've been pretty open about the process. Sorry to everyone who got booted, but as always it's nothing personal.

This is another reason we need a broader spectrum (time-wise) of "officers". I play practically every day from 8 am to whenever....rarely ever is there an officer online.

Part of the reason we added Wallach, who (if memory serves) is usually on earlier than the rest of us.

they have almost the same information as normal members , you can only see players name, map location, profession lv and achievement points( this information does not show if people have not played in a while)

Our method this last culling was the "Unknown" tag, which GW2 applies to accounts that have not logged in since the last content patch, which would have been Halloween. However, a few may have been incorrectly labelled because of the pre-Lost Isles patches.

We discussed it as it was happening and we're going to probably create a custom build rank called "Inactive" which will have all of the same access rights as Members and only be applied to people who are listed as "Unknown" between patches, rather than right after or before them.

But, as mentioned above, we shouldn't have to do another one of these for a few months, and as always, an invite is just an in-game mail or whisper away.

in their defense SHINIESSSSSSSS

edit: I saw it waaaay above 440 sometime during the Halloween week. Had we removed people since?

When does a thief backstab build get feasible? I was toying around with dagger/pistol last night and having fun, but it wasn't efficient at all. However, I'm only level 19. =P

I would start combat with 3, let them miss a blind attack, then drop a smokescreen, let them miss another attack, then use 2 (to go stealth in the blind field), then get behind them and backstab. It's pretty fun, but that combo wasn't killing stuff outright and I still took a chunk of damage (compared to something like sword/pistol).

Are there traits or skills I need absolutely to make this work more efficiently?

Well the common thief backstab build is with dual dagger. My friend does Assassin's Signet > Basilisk Venom> Mug > Backstab > cloak and dagger > Backstab

Does crazy damage.

Nothing is really feasible at level 19 :p

D/p is my favorite weapon combo, though. It does become very effective at higher levels.

Do you mean Blinding Powder, rather than smokescreen? (The pistol 5). If so you've got that skill rotation down exactly right. There are quite a few traits (which you can't use yet) that maximize that, and other circumstances to consider, however. After the backstab, consider swapping weapons to p/d and using the 3 to get back to range- stack some bleeds/vuln and cripple, then swap back when the cooldown's ready to repeat. Don't neglect your utility skills, either. Replace step one with Scorpion Wire to save the initiative (could do two full powder/heartseeker/backstab combos before disengaging). Heartseeker can be a useful leap finisher for tons of fields- not just the Stealth from smoke. Having your elite skill available for tougher fights is a pretty big deal for thieves IMO (it seems to not matter quite as much for some classes).

So in preparation for tonight, anyone who doesn't mind basic content spoilers (and for those who like to read strats like myself) should go ahead and go read this guide:

Fractals Guide

That being said, I intend to make a very full night of fractals and events. That's me saying I'm going to want to group up for the partay.

No spoilers for me! But as soon as I'm home I'm down to run a fractals... path or however the heck it works. As much as I can before I have to go to dinner. When I get back, it's energy drinks, snacks, and loot.

I've got the drinks and snacks. Loot to come. Also:

E: Reading about the mechanics in these fractals is fucking brilliant. I'm glad I'm reading because of the slew of debuffs, conditions, and situations that need to be managed. SO EXCITED.

Whatever pistol 5 is is what I mean. The one that makes them blind. =D

I need to level faster. WTF is my problem. =<

Thief, 19; Guardian, 29; Warrior, 12; Elementalist, 20; Ranger, 22.

Oh, that's my problem.

Just so you know after I got culled. I totally whored with like 40 different guilds. There are goo and toys everywhere. I still have the kiddy tub filled with green jello I'll bring it to our next guild meeting.

Only saw 3/9 Fractals this morning from a gamespot vid. Looks amazing and cant wait to get home in 5ish hrs to start diving down into mathematical insanity.

All of the Fractals fights sound incredibly good. This one got me though.

After the golem it’s only a short walk to the final boss, a crazed feline fancying Asura.

She’s an Asura, which means they’re not cats: they’re Golems with cute names. She’ll activate them one by one. Each has a unique set of skills. The fun really starts though when all four become active after you have beaten them one at a time.

Each player will receive a different buff represented by a positive or negative charge. You must avoid players with the opposite charge to you and move next to players with the same. Sounds simple but things can get hectic with all the fighting going on.

90 more minutes of work. 90 more minutes of not being able to get shit done. <3

What is this?

Looks like the one of the major bosses of FotM - Jade Maw

Is the main guild still Stormbluff only?

Also is repping the guild required?

Yes.

No, but people who habitually don't represent stand out when it comes time to cull. Lots of people in GAF, chances are good you'll find someone to group with.

What is this?

C313FFBB74974BB94856FE9FF0B6065ABA0F985E

It says: "Warning
Dangerous sea monsters

Lion’s Arch Authorities kindly remind all visitors that sea monsters have rendered our beaches unsafe for the general public. Should you choose to ignore this warning then upon your inevitable, grisly demise members of our local pirate population will insure the fair division of your remaining, worldly possessions. Despite your potential horrible end, find comfort in the knowledge that you will soon no longer care and that you will have made a generous contribution to those who, ironically, have more respect of the rules than you do."

The cutscene was literally one of the karkas jumping out of the water onto a rock. Possibly less than two seconds actually.

Lol, you mean gafguild? If it's anything like the initial traffic for the MK dungeon.... there's no need to set anything up- you won't have any trouble finding a group :p

edit: I'm really scared for the lighthouse :'(

Oh hey, Surprise, I was kicked from the guild. I have a level 80 and 6 other lower level characters, with about 1500 achievement points (If you check the guild tab now that's better than about 60% of the guild, had been semi active since launch -about 300 hours- was very active during the past Halloween event and had just logged in the past 4 days to do some WvW).

I wonder why... I guess it's not longer the number of achievement points but we are cherrypicking people we like or don't say mean things about my favourite game. *rollseyes*

Just a bad feeling :(

I'm assuming it's related to the stream you're watching? Can't watch it at work cuz we can't stream media
because some idiot was watching porn at work...
