They're finally starting to come up with viable working solutions to owner recognition technology in guns...

If they couple this technology with legislation requiring all guns sold to use this tech, and gun licenses; proof that a person has been thoroughly taught in gun safety, control and management, then america could well turn into the safest place in the world, with regards to guns anyway.

But no doubt they'll be staunch opposition to these measures...

The most reliable thing about guns is that they pose a threat; and can be used as deterrence. Hell you don't even need bullets for that; just the presence of the gun is enough.
