Any news about the subject? The latest rumours from Valve pointed a release date around the end of August/September. With Doom 3 in the pipeline, do you think the game can be released sooner?

I think Gabe Newell of Valve stated that the final code would be turned in to Vivendi in August. A September release date isn't too unlikely if you ask me.

accoring to gabe, the first release candidate should go out on july 30th. normally, this would be very good news, but the counterstrike source beta will start around then. half-life 2 will not ship until the beta is over. i'm guessing late semptember. hope i'm right..
