Wow Im getting older 🤣 This game is OG. I spend so many hours playing this game on my potato pc in the past(embarassing I was just using pentium 3 and voodo 1 gpu in the early 2000) but it performed pretty well. Valve engine are always excelllent.

Ah. That time. I remember it well.

For me, it was a time of struggling to get the damn game to work. A time of screaming at the computer because Steam was... well. It was a thing back then.

It was a time of bitter disappointments, because my computer looked like the set of The Mummy Returns on the inside. And when I did finally get the game running up to snuff a considerable time later, boy howdy, let me tell you:

let's do it the crew GIF by AT&T Hello Lab

...it sucked. The disappointment was immeasurably worse now that I could actually play it.
The complete tonal shift, the airsoft gunplay, the slidey, motion-sickness-inducing movement. And the game was - and is - fundamentally ugly.

And I'm still excited to see what 3's about. I own Alyx, and have yet to play it. But I must know, you know?

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the Xbox port, which is how I first played it, it's too long ago to remember if I picked it up day and date, but I didn't wait long.

Maybe not the best way to play it, but I'm not torn up that was how I did, having no PC at the time, I was just happy to be able to play it at all.

I played the (original) Xbox port first, didn't play through it on PC until the orange box came out.

It was still great, despite the Xbox port being lackluster

I hope HL3 starts with "previously in Half Life…" because I don't remember shit other than the jokes of the Concerned comic.

Shit man, that reminds me. HL2 is almost unplayable for me these day because of how much motion sickness I get from playing it. Always wondered what this is all about because there are very, very few other games I have this problem with.

Wow, my Steam account is older than HL2. Can't even remember why I created it since I didn't start adding games until 2005. Half Life multiplayer maybe?
