Gabe said all that tech will be used in their future games. Aftermath is just an add-on not a full game.

HDR is kinda moot in a overcast outdoor setting, not to mention some of lost coast features were not planned to be implemented on the expansion (what with trying to keep the same audience and all). That accessory on Alyx is the multitool she had in the original.

The Stalkers are going to be in this one, and maybe (likely) more of the beasts we saw from the Citadel ride at the end of HL2 that didn't make it in the game.
