Got a Dolby 5.1 setup going.... Gun sounds are muffled. Completely. You can barely hear them fire. All the other channels seem okay. Center channel checks out - dialogue is fine on it.

Same with the front and rear channels.

have you checked your LFE channel? I would assume most gun type noises would be heavy in the bass dept.

I've got the same exact problem, only in single player though. Live sound is fine...

sometime i had trouble hearing the voices over the music in the game. very annoying when i'm trying to listen to Cortana tell me what to do next (and why) but all i get is the soundtrack.

The problem is in the highs. Bass is good.

That's odd, Halo 2 sounds fine on my system (which is pretty high end shit).

Right now the sound is also hooked up to the TV speakers and the 5.1 to compensate. But it's a bit ghetto, I'll admit.
