Halo 3 wish list

I would like a few more options in controls, like being able to but crouch as toggle, that sort of thing, haven't played in awhile so specific complaints escape me at the moment

HERE ME BUNGIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS WHAT HALO 3 NEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-motion captured cut-scenes
-4 player co-op online
-more tactical weapons
-more innovative vehicles
-better cinematography during cut-scenes

If all of what i just mentioned above happens in Halo 3, Xbox 360 will come out king.

-Dont take out the flood, they just got interesting, just make them smarter in terms of co-operation with eachother (not less agressive).

-Make the flood able to convert allies to flood soldiers in the level, puts another dimension to keeping your allies alive

-Make allied AI smarter, they werent bad, but they dont protect themselves enough.

-Dynamic cover system you promised for Halo 2 (links in with the last one)

-Online co-op and other Multiplayer modes where the aim isnt to kill other players, like flood survival or grunt toss.

-More action in the cutscenes, I think the one from the E3 demo on earth was the only cutscene where there was any real action and not just dialog, I wanna see Chief kick ass and perform impossible feats of daring when im not in control.

-Do something with the brutes, they suck, they take so much to kill it just gets boring waiting for them to die, then when you do kill one the rest start charging. Give them a proper weakness and make them a different challenge to the elites by changing the way they fight (cover/cooperation/coordination/all three) not just by making them bullet magnets.

Get better with headshots. One to pop off the helmet, another one or two to kill it. Works on charging Brutes too.

I keep telling you people, leave the Brutes alone, or we'll end up with Flooded versions. I hate the fucking Flood enough as is.

SP:
- Satisfying ending.
- A chance to work temporarily with the other remaining Spartans. (Fuck you Bungie for totally ignoring Nylund's work (which was done with your fucking BLESSING!) in Halo 2). Maybe a huge battle or boss battle where two other Spartans help you tackle a massive invasion/monster (Drinol?) or doomsday machine. This could also work into co-op, where the co-op player is one of the other surviving Spartans.
- Voice Commands to Marines/Hell Jumpers.
- More celebrity voicework: It was fun beating the shit out of the Michelle Rodriguez marines. Get some more annoying people like Paris Hilton, Star Jones, Bill O RLY and such to voice marines or covenant.
- Save Replays for Multiplayer and Single-Player, with a video editor that will allow you to share replays with friends like Burnout Revenge 360.
- Photo Mode
- New Weapons like a flame thrower and stun grenades (you can use the ever prevalent blur effect showing up in all the 360 games).
- Alt firing modes for some weapons; setting a Plasma Rifle on overload as a time delay bomb (say 10 seconds, for example).
- Meaner Melee attacks; The melee attacks LOOKED more devastating in H: CE, and each weapon has a cool, distinct melee. Bring that back.
- Night-vision scope, tweaked Battle Rifle, etc. (As others have mentioned); One thing though: shouldn't science had progressed to the point to where the Spartans have IR and Nightvision as part of their armor?
- No more Buggers. Lame as enemy.
- More weather. C'mon Bungie. Flex those muscles. Show us snow and thunder storms and shit. Use that sound system for an awesome t-storm sequence.
- Make some Co-op only missions, somewhat like Splinter Cell: CT; Add some story tidbits to these missions to encourage people playing through co-op mode.
- Live Co-op
- A sprint or dash move. Bungie looked at putting this in before, and couldn't make it "Halo" enough. Try again.

MP
- More multiplayer skins.
- Grunt Wars: put everyone's camera closer to the ground, kinda like Oddjob in Goldeneye on the N64, and slap a grunt skin on the player model.
- Smooth 32 player action. 64 would be too chaotic, IMO.
- Fewer levels that you can accidentally fall off of when you get bumped while jumping (Lockout, I'm looking at you!)
- Map Editor like Farcry: Instincts. While there were a lot of limitations to the editor, it was still wonderful to have the capability to make our own maps without modding our boxes.
- Capability to jump quickly from SP to MP when you recieve an invite to play on Live.
- Spectator mode.
- Finite Swords; as others have mentioned, make the MP sword like the SP sword, or better yet, if you have the sword be as powerful as it is, make it timer based, not just use based.
- Self-destructable vehicles; For when you're getting jacked and want to take the other guy with you. Also good for base rushing (Ram the vehicle into the enemy base, jump right before it detonates).
- Weather, weather, weather. More fog, more snow, thunder storms, etc.
- Something to do while waiting for a game to start, other than looking at stats; Let me look at a map viewer, play a mini-game where I throw sticky grenades at Grunts, something.
- Zombie Variant, but with the Flood.

1. Add more Earth based levels
2. Remove the flood from the game - I don't dig the mindless enemies thing(probably won't happen)
3. Lose the Arbitor as a playable character
4. More open-ended outdoor levels please
5. Add a couple squad based levels - Maybe with other spartans or the arbitor?
6. Limit the MP sword like how it's limited in single player.
7. Make the needler behave like the flak cannon from the UT series. (wishful thinking :) )

Head shot with what? I pop the helmet off all the time, doesnt seem to make much difference to the damage they take.

that'll be why then, i hate the carbine :lol

Surprisingly enough, the Needler works wells on them too. I still wish for the old Needler, where the multi-explosions would probably take out whole packs at a time.

No more Brutes
No more swords (unless its like PDZ)
No more burial mounds
No more matchmaking with leveling
No more proximity chat
No more assualt (bomb game)

Bring back health like Halo

I only really care about Halo for multiplayer. Single player can suck it.

So with that:

All classic levels returning: I miss Sidewinder, Hang 'em High, and Boarding Action. :(

Balance weapons: Needler either needs more damage, better homing, more ammo, or faster fire rate. Plasma Pistol needs to have its homing nerfed. Sword needs ammo, less lunging. Bring back the pistol from Halo 1, the magnum is just terrible even when dual wielding. Sniper rifles need to have the 'head-lock' removed completely.

The ability to turn weapons on/off like in SSB:M. Or the original Perfect Dark where you chose what weapons you wanted in. Tired of playing with predefined sets. Covenant Carbine, Needler, Magnum = useless

Bring back fall damage. Seriously.

Health meter return. I think this would reduce a lot of camping issues.

Quoted for the Mother Fucking truth.

The only thing hard about Legendary is that the enemies kill you when you run out of fucking ammo. They don't do anything differently than Easy mode, they just near goddam invincible.

That's cheap as shit.

Yeah, after the first update. The Magnum was a very powerful DW weapon, with two of 'em at mid-range, you could take out an opponent with a BR and have like half of your shield left.

Because of how rare they are on most maps, and the fact that it actually takes a lil' smidge of skill to kill with them effectively(moreso than the BR, anyways), I do not understand why the Mag was nerfed. :-/

The enemies are smarter in Legendary. Try throwing plasma grenades at them on Easy then again on Legendary. They usually dodge them on Legendary, but most Jackals and Grunts get killed by plasma grenades on all easier difficulties. If you are hiding or hanging back while in cover on Legendary, they are much more capable of flushing you out or attacking you from behind on Legendary.

If I remember, the Magnum benefited from a glitch that registered every shot as a head shot, or something along those lines. Strange that they tinkered with it, but left the plasma pistol alone. The dual mags were quick, but nothing compared to the br pp combination.

All they need to do to fix the Plasma Pistol is to make it so when you use a charge shot and it overheats, you can't switch weapons. That and tone down the homing a little bit.

-Brutes are annoying i agree, but make them actually do something other than just start running at you and they might be interesting to fight.
-Just take out the lunge from the swords, and give them energy levels.
-Burial Mounds is a Good map
-Matchmaking is Excellent, in fact Every game should have it.
-Yeah this one i can agree with. (dont really need to hear the other team saying "I owned you bitch")
-Assualt is good but give everyone lives. *lets say 2 per round.
-And keep the shield system..

Now for my own things.
-DO NOT MAKE IT LIKE PDZ. (Nothing like it) (well except maybe unarming and running)
-Gun Porn. :p

There are a lot of complaints about the plasma pistol. I've found that people using the pistol and BR combo are actually pretty easy to deal with if you keep your wits about you. If you just stay by some cover, step out and lure them into a shot. Then, since the plasma burst travels so slowly, just get behind the cover again. From that point it's just a matter of getting your shots in while they fumble with their BR.

I do agree that slightly toned down tracking would make it better, so that if you see it coming, you can dodge it, like how you can dodge the sword.

Oh yeah, one other thing that pissed me off is like in games like Assault, the team that goes first has such a stupid advantage.

Red Team: Goes first, scores
Blue Team: Goes next, scores
Red Team: Goes again, scores. WIN GAME.

Blue Team should get one more shot. Redemption or whatever you call it.

blue team is always the attacking team first.

Oh god, agree! No flood! I HATE THEM.

Or have Master chief wipe them all out early.

The covenant are funny, smart, and personable. The flood are none of those things.
Some of you guys are retarded. No flood? That's like asking for Resident Evil with no zombies. The title of the game is "Halo". What is Halo for? Destroying the Flood. Anyways, here's my wishlist:

--More visor modes. Screw the people who want the fucking flashlight. We're talking about a fucking super soldier from the 24th century. Where's the night vision? Where's the infrared vision?

--Stealth missions. I don't know about you guys, but running in and making a fucking racket shooting everything in sight gets old after a while. I want missions where you have to use silenced weapons and sneak around or else you'll get your ass handed to you. Enough of the mindless shit we're used to in FPS. That's what I like about PDZ. If you use stealth and use your head, the mission is alot easier. The hard part about stealth is actually how to use it.

--Bring back peeking and sprinting. The game was so fucking rushed that Bungie didn't have enough time to implement these features. What fucking FPS doesn't have a peek? Oh that's right, Halo...with it's mindless gameplay.

--Bring back the ATV, Snowhog, Junglehog and Transport Hog and please have levels large enough to make them necessary.

--Now that the Elites are no longer enemies of the humans we need a new antagonist. After playing as the Arbiter, I can no longer "hate" Elites. They are bad-ass honorable fucking soldiers. Give us a new member of the Covenant. The "New Covenant" should consist of Humans, Elites, Grunts and Hunters against the "Old Covenant" of Prophets, Brutes, Jackals, "Bugs", and the new guys ("Old" and "New Covenant" fits the Biblical theme nicely).

--Squad commands. I'm sorry Bungie, but ever since the first Halo, the marines have been a piece of shit to work with. They fucking suck. However, in Halo 2 when you play as the Arbiter, your A.I. teammates are bad asses. I don't know about you guys, but fighting alongside Elites was a headbanger moment in Halo 2. If the Marines are going to suck, then at least allow me to tell them to "Suppress", "Fall Back", "Recon" or "Search and Destroy".

--Axe the long, repetitive missions. These were obviously forced to make the game longer. I want a ton of short to moderate missions.

--A human sword. Yes, it's a machete and it never runs out of ammo or power like the Covenant sword. It shouldn't be as powerful as the energy sword, but still packs a punch.

--Mission objectives that are much deeper than "Stop the Covenant from doing this" and "Stop the Covenant from doing that" which all really amounts to "Kill more Covenant". That's shitty game design.

--Missions on the Covenant homeland that kind of deviate from the normal storyline. I want the Prophets to get so pissed at the Elites that they go to the Elite homeland and try to wipe it out. Halo 2 wasn't the "Galactic Romp" that Bungie promised, so Halo 3 should make up for it.

--It should be done when it's fucking done and then delayed a few months. I don't want MS to give Bungie any more fucking excuses. How the fuck could a game be three years in the making and still end up being rushed? They were so busy signing bands for the soundtrack that they forgot to make a complete game.

--Last but not least: Finish the fucking series. No more Halo unless it's an Unreal Tournament type multiplayer only game. Time to move on. No need milking something until it's dead.

I want them to focus on expanding the feel of controlling the Master Chief. I should be able to punt those little grunts in a bulkhead. I want to be able to rush into an elite and have the chance to knock the weapon out of his hand. I don't want to turn halo into a fighting game but I do want to expand his melee attacks beyond a simple rifle butt.

I also think that you should feel like your using an armored suit that enhances your speed and strength by making the environment more interactive. The need to create a feeling of weight when you jump and land. When I get knocked on my ass have me looking at the floor for a second while I get up and get my bearings. Above all

Sound like you want a Mario Chief

Well, bringing in the Drinol

would be a good start. They were rendered but not included in Halo 2. Bigger than the Hunters, more akin to the cave troll in LOTR.

Well, based on the behind the scenes footage included on the LE DVD, I'd say the problem with Halo 2 taking so long was due to project management, or rather, a lack thereof. They come outright and say on the DVD that they made the cool real-time demo of an attack on Earth for E3 2003, and then find that all they really have done at that point is a demo, not anything resembling a game. They fought with the graphics for too long, trying to make them look up to par with the GDC demo as well.

As far as finishing the series, I agree that this should be it for the storyline and single player, in a fashion. I say split the series a few ways: Single-player only series about the creation of the Spartans (before they got the armor) and their training and early missions. That would cover your desire for stealth mission. A multi-player only series would be great as well, and would probably make MS and Bungie a pretty penny.

Save this shit for the Arbiter. Chief as we know him doesn't have a sneaking bone in his body, and trying to contain a tank in the shadows is just fucking stupid.

Umm... that is how the matchmaking games work... each team gets 2 trys at the objective. People need to learn how to make proper custom games 4 rounds damn it! Not first to X wins!

The game's campaign just needs more tactical situations and events akin to Halo: Combat Evolved. I mean when you think of Halo, each level had a certain theme to it...Like the one sniping in the dark level...The huge battles at the end of Two Betrayals...The nonstop flood in The Library. And then when I think of Halo 2 it's all one big blob of just running and gunning, without any strategy. Especially after you leave Earth.

... Registered every shot as a headshot? But wouldn't that mean that the effect would still be the same if we were shooting at the head? I think more was changed.

If it was just a glitch, I wish it had been left alone. That, or the damage properties were changed so it would be similar to the way it was pre-update.

I don't play online so I didn't know this. I only play with the people in my area and every time I've played a game it's been like that. Hmm.

Edit:

I forgot about this. If I crouch, I want to stay crouched until I click both thumbsticks again. It is such a pain in the ass to sneak around while holding them both in.

- Online Co-Op

- Fall Damage In Places with gravity (like earth, halo rings, etc.), No fall damage is places without gravity (space / spacestations)

- Focus more on the covenant... less on the flood (i know it's never gonna happen... but i really hate the flood though)

- more vechiles

- more spartans

- more mid/long range weapons. There is simply not enough for the open battlefield.

- first person driving/shotgun/turret to make the game a hell of a lot more interesting and fun during those sequences :)

-first person deaths! None of this 3rd person junk, have the camera move with the head when you die. With ragdoll physics it would make it sooo cool when getting slammed by a ghost or tossed aside by an explosion

-make the plasma pistol a risky weapon. more hit damage. make it like the plasma rifle where half stick pressure is auto fire, last half is charge. On charging either make it a) fire straight and a little it quicker or b) make it take out your shields too if there is still tracking.

-make the game a little quicker. Why? Because making it quicker would then encourage more small arms use and discourage some of the sniper whoring (because it would make it a little harder to kill the enemy)

-I don't know what went on in bungies mind but the sceptre is garbage! why isn't that huge streamlined vehicle shown in concepts used instead? The carbine also looks like junk ><

-how about adding a third grenade? A covenant grenade based on the needler! Roughly the same explosive effect as a sticky without sticky properties... instead... it shoots out lots of needles with lesser lifespan than it's firearm counterpart

-make the bend range on the rockets lower. i've had rockets chase me all around the maps a few times :(

-maybe a new health/shield system a cross inbetween both halo and halo 2. Where both health and shields exist and both recharge. Shield takes it's usual time in halo 2 and health takes a minute to fully regenerate. The reason for this is if people keep coming in constant waves you won't be fully 100% ready for battle until you have some extended rest. or something. It's just to bring the health battle tactics back into the game :)

-More vehicles and more vehicle variants. Like different ghosts... banshees. High speed 1 men craft without on board weapons for quick base strikes. Transport vehicles.

-more covenant! moooooooooore!

-less flood! less!

-more self destruct :D

No snipers (for enemies) in regular game please. It was really awkward in halo 2 because the game is primarily about close range combat. That's the STYLE. Also grunts were even more sissy in halo 2, make them less sissy please. Jackals have become useless. Those flying bugs are completely useless. Elites aren't so elite anymore. Battling hunters was not fun in halo 2. They were fun in halo. fix please :)

ODSTs were awesome. the game could use more of them.

no more bosses, please.

the only covenant that should speak is grunts and prophets. Having the elites speak english REALLY killed it in halo 2. (that is... speaking it forwards instead of backwards)
