Not specifically about PS2, but close enough I should mention it now in case I forget about it when the proper time comes. I enjoy considering where different people/things are at the same age. So for some time Sony was considered a relative newcomer to the game console business, but soon they will have been in it as long as Nintendo was when the PS1 released. Famicom launched July 15, 1983. PlayStation launched December 3, 1994. So the mirror date will be April 23, 2006. PS1's current age, applied to Famicom launch, gives a date of October 16, 1993.

As another mirror date, the time when the PS2 will have been out as long as the PS1 was when PS2 launched will be June 4, 2005.

Not sure if I can say that the PS2 beats the PS1 as my favorite system, but there's still FFXII, so who knows. To be honest I thought 2000 and 2001 were the PS2's best years, although that might just be me getting jaded.
