Best. song. ever.
Alpha: Did you have a real conversation with James? Or was it just a "hey man you rock. Can I have your autograph?"
It went along the lines of:
Me: Hey, James. How are you man?
James: Doin' good.
Me: I saw you at the Nassau show back in early May, you guys were incredible.
James: Thanks, man. I appreciate that.
Me: So I heard Jeordie is supposed to play with the Brides today? Is he around too?
James: Ahh, no, man. Jeordie's not feeling too well, he couldn't make it.
Me: Oh that sucks. Well alright, man, take care. *walking...comes back* Shit, sorry. Can I get your autograph? ... Thanks again, man!
Then I walked back to the other side of the floor (it wasn't a very packed crowd, there was about 100-120 people tops -- it's a small place). He was all by himself it seems. And APC are apparently huge fans of theirs, so Jeordie and James didn't mind doing little guest appearances for them. Anyways, The Brides came on, played about 5 songs until Dimitry began introducing their guest guitarist and it was...
(Screen is huge, yeah. But this is an Iha appreciation thread.)
So pimp. He even played the solo of the song they were performing ("From You"). Needless to say, that concert, along with APC and Foo Fighters were like the three greatest concerts of all time. Meeting James was one of my summer 2004 highlights. \m/>_<\m/
P.S. If anybody knows who The Explosion are, I also met them and my friend and I actually hung out with one of the guitarists' (Dave Walsh's) wife for most of the show. Her name, no joke, was Buick and she was pretty cute in that punky/out there way. Anywho, yeah...love intimate shows like that; you get to meet the band and realize just how much heart these guys have. Fucking awesome.
