Happy Easter?

That's an interesting point, considering almost all of the disciples and known eye witnesses of Jesus' resurrection were martyred for claiming it happened.

I wonder if they'd have done the same if told to renounce that spring comes every year...

Eyewitness testimony can be pretty fucking unreliable. And the "eyewitness testimony" included in the bible and "supporting" texts is some of the wildest and crappiest literature I've ever read. How can you take that shit serious? Religions are cults used to make a lot of money, gain power over others, and pederast a lot of kids. Just axe Michelle.

Easter is specifically a religious day, there is no other meaning.
There is the religious Christian celebration alongside the pop cultural bunnies and eggs pagan consumerism thing. Western pop culture has long been a mix of pagan folk traditions as well as Christian. See Christmas and Halloween.

Depends on if they claimed it was because of the Earth rotating around the sun I suppose.
I don't understand what you mean. People would usually change their story or lie to avoid being executed, yet they didn't.

I'm talking about the eyewitnesses that were put to death for refusing to deny they saw Jesus alive after He was crucified. They must've considered their eyes to be reliable witnesses, and determined physical death was a better outcome than denying Him.

Did the original church make a lot of money, gain power, or pederast children? Were James, John, Peter or Paul benefitting materially from being apostles? I'm pretty sure Christians during that period were fed to lions and crucified upside down.

Their beliefs are not mine. So, no. I can celebrate the arrival of spring without any gods at all.
Why did you bring this up if the origin of Easter was the celebration of the equinox then ?
They celebrated fertility gods specifically for spring time , you really aren't making much sense and contradict yourself

Do you celebrate the other seasons also?

Easter candy > halloween candy.

Reese's eggs are amazing and I love cadburry eggs.

That's the extent to which I care about Easter these days, but hope everyone is having a good day!

Happy resurrection Sunday.

I'm going to give this a watch.

Thanks for the heads-up...somehow I missed this film!

I just finished watching it before starting work tonight, and I loved it. It definitely brought me many tears of thankfulness. 🙌💖

Reese's got that chocolate to peanut butter ratio perfect on the eggs. No other peanut butter cup shape comes close. The xmas trees are trash by comparison.

Yeah, and it tastes fresher. If you buy regular cups sometimes they taste really stale. Like they were made in the factory a couple months ago. In fact, that happens quite often.

I really like it. Actually everyone I know who saw it liked it.
It's a solid movie with a couple of truly amazing scenes.

My Easter is in May and I plan to watch a couple of religious epics. The new remaster of The Ten Commandments is probably at the top of the list.

Not only you get to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, but you also get chocolate eggs.

GTFO with your non-christian shit

Happy Easter, everyone!

I am so thankful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I would be a much different person if not for Him and for that I am truly grateful.
