The problem with sequels to old comedy movies is that they forget how to be grounded with what works, Dumb & Dumber, Anchorman, etc, if you compare the originals to the sequels they always tend to just be the first tricks on steroids and the characters now retarded, oh, remember that joke from the first movie you liked? Well here it is now even bigger, longer, crazier and over the top!
Prime example I always use for this, the fights in Anchorman, in Anchorman 1 the pacing, the gangs, etc, of it just worked and it escalated just enough, especially when paired with the following scenes "Boy that escalated quickly!" "It jumped up a notch!" "Brick killed a guy!". Where as Anchorman 2 fills it out with even more gangs, each being filled with celeb cameos, having the fight bestowed upon by a God, etc, pacing is way off just to show each gang doing silly stuff and there's no pay off scene afterwards.

But the question asked by Georgio was if there were any good comedy sequels, not if they were even better than the first.
Also, Deadpool 2 and 3, Meet the Fockers, Addams Family Values, American Pie 2, Home Alone 2, Rush Hour 2, and Men in Black 2 and 3 are all pretty solid.
Also, Christmas Vacation is my favorite of the Vacation series.

Anyway, I’m cautiously pessimistic about this movie. Which is probably generous considering the last seventy-squillion Sandler movies.

Looks like they’re doing the awful thing of making the protagonist dress and act exactly the same as they did 30 years ago despite basically no one looking or acting the same as they did 30 years ago.
