If you put a Metallica album in your player and you can't decide which song to play first....you know it's an amazing album.

My favorite songs so far:

Atlas, rise!
Moth into Flame
Now that we're dead
Halo on Fire
Confusion
ManUNkind
Dream No More
Spit out the Bone
Murder One

9/12

This is fantastic. Definitely in my Top3 of my favorite Metallica albums of all time.

Here comes revenge doesn't get enough love.

I need to listen to it more. Always skipping it...and I don't know why. It's definitely not bad.
I remember skipping "Carpe Diem, baby" every time I listened to Reload...which was a huge mistake. The song is great ^^

edit: Damn, Here Comes Revenge reminds me of St.Anger. Very dark riffs, very angry., melodic verse. Just imagine the garbage snare, lol. And yeah, this song is good.

edit2: And after listening to Halo On Fire more than 15 times I can say this is their best song since One. The solo at the end...WOOOOOW. And the harmonies....damn.

I actually haven't even received a shipping notification yet, so that message makes zero sense. Either way, they aren't Amazon and tomorrow is Wednesday, so I'm guessing I'm fucked and won't have the new album 'til next week.

Load/Reload are great for Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, Where the Wild Things Are, Fixxxer and the above mentioned Carpe Diem Baby.

Those albums definitely aren't riffy but the songwriting is really good with build ups and atmosphere which I find an interesting change of pace to say the earlier albums or Death Magnetic.

After listening to Hardwired its better than Load/Reload but definitely could use a ballad an an instrumental to replace one of the mid tempo songs. And maybe one more banger

I wanna give a special shoutout out to Unforgiven II. I love that song

The verse is a bitch to play on guitar though

One of my favorites. I fucking love the lyrics, and the "So I dub thee unforgiven" at the end always gives me the feels. I assume you know they used a B-bender on the recording?

When they played it live a while back, they didn't really do the verse or chorus riffs how they are on the album at all. Just stuck to the chords.

Bloodborne is shit
I think one of the most interesting things about the album is how it slips in and out of their various sounds throughout the years in a fairly subtle way. Death Magnetic at times felt like a conscience decision to revisit the past whereas with Hardwired when I hear echos of the past they seem pretty natural.

Also James sounds great. Is he drinking again?

Got the same message. We'll have it digitally, which is enough for me to survive!

Everyone here picking Hardwired up on Friday?

I don't think it's bad at all. Kirk fucked up that beginning lol, but the rest was good. You shouldn't expect perfection from live Metallica, They make mistakes from time to time (specially Kirk and Lars), but it still sounds great.

This UII from 2015 sounds good too, maybe better (two presentations from the same song 18 years apart and James sings it like he never got older, holy shit this man)

Wow, I've actually never heard of that, very interesting!

Here I am trying to bend up on the B a whole step from 3 to 5 without popping the string

I think they actually played it live recently but yeah I think it's difficult live. I remember how bad the Billboard performance was

What an amazing album loving it so far!! It's very heavy, and it sounds like a mixture from old Metallica with new Metallica.

Atlas, rise! is the best one so far.
The videos are all very basic. Liked the raw one from Hardwired but even that one could have been something more.

Damn, Hetfield did not want to be there lol

He doesn't really do promotional shit at all any more. He doesn't do the meet and greets at concerts, won't sign autographs or take pictures, and doesn't do many interviews.

I remember them talking about it on That Metal Show, how he was one of the main people they would have liked to get on the show. But Trunks said Hetfield told him straight up that he doesn't do that kind of stuff, that it's Lars's department. Which all really sucks. I love Lars, but for the frontman of the band to not really want to talk about the band blows. I hope someday he writes a book, but I doubt it.

What was the reason behind him not doing Meet and Greets anymore?

Looks like he couldn't hear the stream. You see him tell the tech at the beginning that it must be unplugged. Then, when a question is asked to him you can hear someone off screen reading him the question.

He can't do much if he can't hear. He looks like he's in a good mood when he actually answer the question.

Also is that new about him not doing meets and greet? I feel like I've seen him do it many times.
