How is the 'Remember Tomorrow' cover? Would've been neat if they covered something from the later 80s albums, or some more recent Maiden (from No Prayer for the Dying to The Book of Souls).

Yea it is very basic compared to the rest of the album.
Dream No More and Confusion are two of the songs that are sticking with me the most so far. They have a great groove and memorable choruses.

Dream No More, Halo on Fire and that one about spitting out bones are the best on the album. In that they are actually really good Metallica songs.
Many songs suffer from the fact that Hetfield isn't an angry young man anymore but those three mentioned above are classic Metallica. Overall it's a very solid record and you can feel the energy here.

Hardwired has grown on me. If it weren't for the 'we're so fucked, shit out of luck' line, I'd fucking love it. That single line is so bad it drags the rest of the song down.

Really though the album is pretty good, but I'm disappointed with how slow it is. I really enjoyed Death Magnetic, this one is too TBAesque and Loady. And a lot of these songs remind me of Cyanide, probably my least favorite song from DM.

I also got an email saying Pokemon Sun and Moon where delayed until Monday, so I canceled and ordered from Best Buy, now its saying they are in stock and if I order I'll get it today. WTF Amazon.
I cancelled Hardwired. I'll just pick it up with the Pokemon games.
I have Amazon Prime, pre-ordered in september, and got an email saying the new delivery date is the 29th.
My thoughts as well. Hardwired made me think we were going to get some speed but nothing really gets close to that pace again. In the end its just kind of a middling hard rock record.

They should have recorded a studio version of the "Prowler" cover they did at some gigs in the 90's. Back in the day it sounded brutal with James' old voice.
