Harley Davidson Leaving US due to Trump's Tariffs

I'm not an expert on the economy or anything, but this should have been pretty obvious right from the start.

‘American success story’ Harley-Davidson to shift production out of U.S. to avoid Trump’s trade war

While Trump has repeatedly claimed that the U.S. can win trade wars, victims are starting to pile up at home and abroad.

Harley estimated that ramping up output in international plants for the EU may take at least nine to 18 months. While the company said it’s committed to making motorcycles in the U.S., it suggested it has no other choice but to move production from its home market.

Well, no. They're doing it in response to EU tariffs that are in response to Trump tariffs that are in response to EU tariffs.

This thread already exists, but they aren't leaving the US - they are moving manufacturing for export vehicles overseas. Were I Trump, I'd both offer a tax credit to companies impacted by the tariff to offset it and hammer them with a foreign income tax to punish them for moving jobs out.

If I were Trump my next tweet would be, “Low IQ Obama economy fixes made Honda cease making motorcycles in the US and hurt Harley. Picking up pieces, future looks great if we observe patience. Payoff will be HUGE if Harley waits. MAGA”
