Hopefully the quality is as good as Disney+, whose 4K-HDR content looks as good as the quality from 4K-UHD Blu-ray discs.

Disney+'s software engineers are wizards, because they're the only team who has been able to rival picture quality from 4K-UHD Blu-ray discs via streaming.

Netflix and Amazon Prime have noticeable compression artifacts that are especially obvious in the dark scenes of 4K-HDR content. Hopefully, HBO Max won't have these problems.

I am using HBO GO app, I got access from my cable operator, its the worst streaming app I have ever used. There is no surround sound, only stereo and it keeps crashing.

I really wish they would cut ties with Sky and release HBO Max in the UK.

As it stands, all HBO Max content will be on Sky, and their steaming platform, Now TV.

But Now TV is gash. You first have to pay separately for the TV and movie passes, which is over £20 if you want both. However, all of this just streams in SD. If you want to stream in HD, which is a damn standard for almost all streaming platforms, you need to pay an extra £3.99 for their "boost pass".

Fuck that.

These artifacts would be pretty easy to solve if we could use something like madVR on these streaming services.

I already use it on youtube and it looks great.
