AACS is offically part of the spec

AVC HP is now mandatory for HD-DVD

FGT was voted down as mandatory for HD-DVD

HD DVD-R is progressing along



There will be a BRD meeting in Korea later next week, so we should hear some news on that front...

They also approved v1.1 of the HD-DVD ROM Spec. Any ideas what's in that?

FGT is Film Grain Technology, which apparently can restore film grain to a picture after being compressed with a video codec (which often filters out noise to get better compression)...
