I forgot this was released recently. I'm a big fan of the first and of similiar games like Victoria an Empire Under the Sun and Europa Universalis. So is this one an improvement? Worth getting?

Every review I read had nothing to complain about and praised it like the second coming of christ. I'm destined to get this, Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron were favorites of mine..

Paradox is one of my favorite developers, so yes, I'll be getting this. I even prefer EU2 to Civ, as far as world-domination games go.

Its quite good, the diplomatic abilities and production as well as the research tree are quite advanced now, especially the research thing.

I just started playing the game and haven’t found everything that is new yet, but it seems a lot better than the first (which is my least favourite Paradox game, my favourite is still Victoria and EU2).

Did anyone ever play the first HoI online? I started playing the game pretty late, a few months ago... I was just wondering if the whole real-time thing actually worked in multiplayer...

I have a friend who's obsessed with it. He loves it, but after listening to him talk about conquering Europe for the 12th time in a slightly different way than all the others, I could do without this game.
