Ron Perlman to put on the right hand of doom again! He says HELLBOY 2 to begin shooting this year!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a little info for us HELLBOY lovers. Ron Perlman kicks unholy amounts of ass as that huge red demon and Guillermo del Toro loves the character to a very creepy level. I've seen Guillermo perform disgusting acts involving tentacles, horns and every color of the rainbow... shiver...
Anyway, it seems Perlman has been told that they're aiming to start shooting HELLBOY 2 this fall, which fits in with what I've been hearing. I know del Toro is working on PAN'S LABYRINTH, right now in the pre-production stage, which promises to be his biggest scale Spanish Horror film to date... I've also heard whispers from my gods that AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS may go after HELLBOY 2, if the Ancient Ones are smiling upon us. That is the one I'm most jazzed for. Anyway, here is the word on HELLBOY 2:
Hey Harry.

I haven't seen anything about this on the site so I thought I would write you. Ron Pearlman confirmed that he will be playing Hellboy once again. He said they start shooting in the fall and that he is anxious to play Hellboy once again. I for one can't wait!

I bought the movie on DVD and only watched about 40 minutes of it... I have not watched it since... I def. have to throw it in one of these days and watch it beginning to end.

I will buy part 2 on DVD, the first one isn't too bad... it seems to be the introduction story... part 2 should be balls to wall action with just a bad-guy introduction and moving the original characters along...

I never seen the first. I couldn't get by the fact that Hellboy looked like a red Will Farrell with a goofy voice. The badass level meter was limp, ya know? (No I didn't read the comics if that makes a difference)

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
I didn't really like the movie. I just never got a sense of excitement from watching it. The action scenes weren't that entertaining and it just seemed like every single character was under-used. The plot got really generic near the end too. Hopefulyl this one is put together better, because Hellboy has a lot of potential, but everything about it is just really underused.

The first one was sooo disappointing. At least the theatrical release was. The editing was horrendous and towards the end I was just like "what the fuck?!" There were just a ton of flaws that I couldn't forgive and I wanted to like it. I just expected more from Del Toro. Anyways, fast forward a year and I bought that box set with the extended version, still haven't checked it out but I've heard some of my complaints are fixed so I'll give it a go one day.

HB was a poorly made movie. I wanted to like it. But it suffered from horrible character developement. It would have been nice if the narrirator had something more to do with the story.

I never read the comic.
