Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony's Helldivers 2 was the big winner of the 2024 TIGA Awards, taking home the Best Technical Innovation and Game of the Year prizes last night.
Sony Interactive Entertainment also won awards for Best Use of a License, thanks to Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and Best Narrative in Games for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
Ninja Theory and Microsoft's Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 won two awards, for Best Action & Adventure Game of 2024, and Diversity in Games.

I've never dropped a game faster in my life. it was like a really fun 4 hours and then I saw eveything the game had to offer.

How the fuck does a Remaster win the best narrative award? The narrative is exactly the same as it was years ago.

Also, Hellblade II Best Action & Adventure Game?

Not my style of game, but I can see the appeal. While it is a good looking game, I wouldn't have expected it to win "Best Visual Design" and "Best Technical Innovation", but I'm also not in the room while they are having these discussions. I do understand the "Game of the Year" award, as this game was on fire for quite awhile, and still has a healthy player base.

Edit: They gave the best VR/MR/XR/AR game to Assassins Creeds: Nexus, I can't imagine the people that compiled this list even play on VR platforms. What a joke.

Never heard of this place before.

Or can't recall if it was mentioned last year.

I think Helldivers' visual design is far more interesting than Hellblade, just because it has higher quality assets doesn't really mean it's that interesting to look at. Otherwise I'd look at real life all the time.

Eh....I played both quite a bit and I was far more impressed with Hellblade 2 visually. Hellblade 2 winning action/adventure is the bigger joke here though.

If it was just about the visual quality i'd agree yea... but it's about visual design of the game, I don't really think a bunch of photogrammetry makes it good visual design

*edit* tbf helldivers probably didn't have the best visual design of the year either, I'd say zenless zone zero or metaphor deserve that

Probably the most subjective category either way.
