i cant save the game on my ps2 memory card, the game doesnt detect it. is this a normal problem? should i get a psx memory card for this game?

I believe I had the same problem with Final Fantasy Tactics. I dug around and found a PS One memory card and everything was just fine. I assume, of course, that you are playing on a PS2...

If I'm not mistaken, PSOne games require PSOne memcards on PS2.

You can only manually archive PS1 saves on a PS2 card through the system utilities.

PS1 games will not be able to read a PS2 MagicGate card.

What everybody else said. You can only save PS1 games on a PS1 memory card. You can transfer those saves to a PS2 card, but only as a backup. To use them you'll have to transfer them back to a ps1 card.
