Woah! I can't find this documented anywhere on teh Intarnets, so maybe you have a GAF exclusive, yay.

I was testing BC on my Xbox 360 and popped in Halo 2, and started a multiplayer game. I only noticed this now because my 360 is connected via VGA to a monitor that has really lousy black levels. If you look at the third line of scrolling "gibberish" from the bottom at the multiplayer matching screen, you can CLEARLY see that it's a line of text using the Halo font with the top 66% cut off of it. I could decipher something along the lines of "(some guy's name) IS THE BEST DESIGNER" and something about playing Team Slayer. The problem is that the text scrolls right-to-left so it's really hard to figure out WTF is there.

Anyway, if someone has more patience than I, Easter Egg material awaits! Yay! Now I will go to sleep.

Record it, play it at a slow speed, and decipher it using an online key.

The Halo community tears the games apart with amazing speed. I'm still floored how fast all the skulls were found, along with the Scarab gun and other secrets.

There is a ton more of that stuff in there. Bungie in-house agreement is if it can't cause a bug, you can keep it secret, even from peers. Textures are great places to hide stuff.
