I think it's called cannon ball. Rock song, female vocalist. Anyone? Anyone?

Feel free to post your own inquiries, obivously.

Agh, fuck piracy. I'm so close to just heading to Cheapo and picking a couple albums up. I don't wanna wait. I've been meaning to pick up Frank Black's "Teenager of the Year" anyway. Must...resist...for physical...health. (gotta be up early tomorrow}

Edit: Hahaha, the Cannonball video was directed by Spike Jonze.

Pod is better than either of the last two Pixies albums.
For a second I thought you meant The Pod and I was going to be like "I don't know why you're making that comparison, but you're absolutely correct."

I FUCKING HATE THE LEAD SINGER OF THE WALKMEN!!!one11!!

This is the 2nd time I've seen them open up for a fav band of mine (last time was Modest Mouse), and I really like the Walkmen on record (love them even).

Their band is fantastic live, but their lead singer just ruins song after song after song. He screams and shouts his way through the band's fine catalog. Now, songs like "The Rat" call for a sort of speak-shout type of singing, but he takes it further.

I can't explain it, but he does this type of 80's hairmetal yell that just comes out soooo wrong. He ends up sounding like some pre-pubescant teen unhappy with mommy for pulling the teat out his mouth. He screams when the songs don't call for it, and he looks completely bored and disinterested when he isn't.

I mean, how the fuck can you single-handedly ruin "The Rat" and "Wake Up" live? It got to the point where he threw the bands timing off once or twice.

Sorry about the rant, but I can't believe no one from the band has bothered telling him to STFU.

It seems to be the norm for them live, seeing as how they've performed that way both times I've seen them.

Has anyone else from GA seen The Walkmen live?

Yeah. I'll agree ith you about the vocals being different in a bad way, but I really don't think it ruined the experience. What ruined the experience was them just being a rather boring live band, a la Interpol.

!!!!! I had no idea! The Pixies are one of my favorite bands...ever!
uhhhhh.
actually it was a pretty huge hit during that whole alterna boom of 92/93. it was so overplayed that the song got annoying to me after a while.

I've seen them twice... okay one and a half. The second time I was stuck in line because the club was too packed. It was a small club with thin walls, so I was practicly there.

As far as the singer’s voice, I didn't notice anything as bad as you mentioned. I just took it as typical live vs. studio differences. I remember it as him needing to reach vocally to hit notes.
