Some wire is very wet, put it near some heat but not to close to help dry it out wake up in the morning, welcome yourself to the 21st centuary and see will it work!

Yeah let it dry, or take it somewhere with people who know what they're doing and have the tools to open it to see how bad the damage is.

No worries, I've spilled hot coffee on my discman. Worked fine the next day :p

You may have fried it.
If the circuits got wet, and you turned it on, it might have shorted something out.

You got nothing to lose. Take it apart carefully. Clean the plastic parts in soapy water, use a cloth on the electronic parts, let the parts dry, put it back together, and try again - maybe with a fresh set of batteries.

If it's still broken, time to upgrade to an mp3 player :p

I had the worst luck with Sony Discmans. I went throught 3 of them in 5 years before I got a Panasonic which is still working 5-6 years later. The only Sony products I still really trust are their TVs as they just seem to last forever for me.
