3. The Matrix
4. 2001: A Space Odyssey
5. Brazil
6. A Clockwork Orange
7. Alien
8. The Boys From Brazil
9. Jurassic Park
10. Star Wars
11. The Road Warrior
12. Tron
13. The Terminator
14. Sleeper
15. Soylent Green
16. RoboCop
17. Planet Of The Apes
18. The Day The Earth Stood Still
19. Akira
20. Barbarella
plus Minority Report and Artificial Intelligence

must have a good amount of computer/technological content becuase i'll be needing to write an analysis on it. i tired akira as a first choice but while it's a good movie, it's focus on psionic powers is too far off from the theme. unless someone is willing to persuade me otherwise.

also has to be a good movie.

I'd take Blade Runner. Or 2001: A Space Odyssey if that's the one from Kubrick.

Why is nonsense like Gattaca on Wired's top 20 list?

Dead

well not really...yet
You could come away with some decent ideas from 2001 or AI....

I wouldve said Brazil but since youre focusing more on computers....

AI and a Clockwork Orange. CO doesn't have much in terms of computers, but it does deal with technology and society. Plus, it's a good movie. ;)

Sitting through AI might numb you, though. :p

i wanted to watch clockwork orange... but i'm a bit worried it might not have enough material. might i go with the alternative in 2001: space odyssey?

Minority Report is an easy essay, the whole movie showcases real concept technology and how it could all adversely affect society. I wrote an essay on the movie a couple years ago, based on the same subject you're doing, and the teacher gave me an A for it.

Plus it was overall a good movie (but damn it had problems).

Blade Runner tride and true... But for me AI, 2001, Brazil, and to some extent Soylent Green were my choices.

Society interactions in all of the movies above are very simplistic and not very hard to understand and bs a 10 page paper out of. Saying that i've done all of the movies i've listed and have all gotten A's for basically changing up a few details and plot points. There is a formula for these types of papers and they are easy to get through. Good luck.
